Sup Vice, foolycooly here with another review of the animes i have watched over the past couple of months. I been gone for a while now, starting college, got a job, lost a job, you get it so i havent had time for much posting/blogging, but i still watch anime and i could pass up the chance to share my thoughts with you on these. lets save the best for last and start off with the two biggest disappointments of 2011.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENTS OF THE YEAR

BlueExorcist:

The world of Blue Exorcist consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible. However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exists within it. Satan is the god of demons, but there's one thing that he doesn't have and that's a container in the human world that is powerful enough to hold him! For that purpose, he created Okumura Rin, his son from a human woman, but will his son agree to his plans, or will he become something else...? After killing Rin's guardian Father Fujimoto in an attempt to bring Rin back to the Demon world, it led to Rin's journey on becoming an Exorcist in order to defeat Satan.

im finding it hard too describe to you guys how much fail is in this anime. The plot is shotty, the characters are not only unoriginal but underdeveloped, and the villain is an absolute disappointment. with all that said this show has a huge fanbase due to the manga it is based on "ano no exorcist", however naruto and bleach also have huge fanbase's and look how that turned out.

The Good:

in my opinion this anime is very close to bleach/naruto(good and bad). the action is top notch, in fact you don't really go an episode without seeing some good ole' sword action. with that and the fact that Rin is vastly overpowered its a hell of a ride. the animation for this show is absolutely mind bending however if it hasn't really been obvious yet the animation for almost every anime has been improve over the past two years because of the rising demand of it so really it doesn't help the anime.

The REALLY bad:

Watching this anime is like watching a baseball game, except the batter can not hit a single ball and he never gets struck out. the anime is as good as the manga may be, is a train wreak. through out the entire story Rin is a overpowered monster he could litterally destroy anyone in the show with one swing (besides satan) but instead of creating stronger characters the held him back! this was just infuriating to watch. He either loses his sword, gets held back by the church, or hesitates in general.

Rin has 5 friends who throughout the ENTIRE series never developed into stronger characters. A huge mistake on the directors part, from episode 1 too now none of the 5 classmates learned anything new to fight demons. all of them relied on Rin, his brother, and other later characters to take care of the demons. As the story progresses you will find that these characters are nothing but a handicap.

If you were expecting this to also be a good school life anime you will be sorely disappointed. The school in which Rin trains at to become an exorcist has at least 2000 students at hand, we see Rin interact with almost none of them, in fact the 5 other students also only keep too themselves. If i haven't made it clear by now there are 5 characters in Rins class (not including him) throughout the entire show.

Art and Animation

Overall Plot

2 out of 5

the plot itself could have been awesome but it just did not deliever

The Money of Soul and Possibility Control:

The Japanese government was rescued from the brink of financial collapse by the Sovereign Wealth Fund. For its citizens, however, life has not improved, and unemployment, crime, suicide, and despair are rampant. Kimimaro, raised by his maternal grandmother after the disappearance of his father and the death of his mother, is a scholarship student whose only dream is to avoid all this and live a stable life. One day, however, he meets a man who offers him a large sum of money if he'll agree to pay it back. From then on his fate is radically altered as he's drawn into a mysterious area known as "The Financial District."

This anime was the most anticipated show next to "guilty crown" and "ano hana" however when it ended two things happen;

1) thousands of confused people wondered when episode 12 was coming out.

2)disappointment rained over thousands of people when they realized there is no episode 12.

The Good:

The plot to this anime is so original in its entirety that it is really difficult to compare it to any other anime. its like relating a anime to "berserk" or "gantz". The director of this anime perfectly mixed the japanesse economy with fantasy and, of course, romance. Personally i have never seen a a mixture of plot like this before in any anime that actually worked out.

The animation is just beautiful. its not the kind of good animation that shows like bleach have, the animation showed here proves that this anime was high budget from the start.

After 5 episodes you will realize why this anime was so anticipated by everyone.

The Bad:

I have never, in all my time of watching anime, been so disappointed at such a fantastic show. I enjoyed every moment of the series so much, in fact, that i ignored the major plot holes that filled the the anime from episode 1 not because it isnt noticeable but because the plot holes are so huge that you think that they would cover them in later episodes.

My face when that never happened:

The anime left so many unanswered questions about the anime that just left fans angry. why exactly does the finaical district exist? who the hell is Masakaki and why does he exist? who was the Masakaki look-a-like at the boarder of the finaical district? with the collapse of the finaical district what happened to the worlds economy? there are MANY more questions like this.

Another really confusing hole in the story is kimimaros relationship with Hanabi Ikuta. the director only focused on the relationships of the people in/or related to the financial district anyone outside of that only made small chit chat with kimimaro however his relationship Hanabi Ikuta clearly showed that he either had feelings for her or still did. the relationship with mysu later overshadowed hanabi however and they never got back to it. Once again i did expect that they would but the premature ending stopped that thought.

Art and Animation

5 out of 5

i really wish i could give this a 6 out of 5 without looking unprofessional.

Characters

3.5 out of 5

i was highly disappointed by the lack of real world interaction from kimimaro, however i cannot deny that the characters in the financial district are daringly original. i want to change it to a 4 out of 5 but i cant.

Overall plot

1.5 out of 5

you dont know how hard giving this anime a 1.5 out of 5 was. This show is so original and so unique that its just a shame that the directors ruined it with there plot holes and lack of episodes.

Part 2 coming up soon please excuse my grammar guys

Sup guys! My second review on the new anime that has either been made in 2010-2011 or continuing.

summary:

Japan made an armed powered exoskeleton "Infinite Stratos" (IS). due to it advanced technology it became the mainstream of weapons. Since only women can operate IS, women dominate the society over men. Orimura Ichika is a 15 year old boy and accidentally touches an IS placed in the IS pilot training school. He is found to be the only man who can operate IS and forced to enter the training school. Ichika's busy school life surrounded by girls has begun.

The awesome:

This anime has a crazy awesome mecha storyline with very good animation to go with it. The way they merge real life with the fiction is actually pretty impressive. They involve every nation in this anime along with their problems. each (main)country has a IS representative as you can imagine none of them really get along which makes for a interesting collision that grabs the viewers attention. This anime is like gundam mixed with eureka seven battle wise. I mean the fight scenes in this anime are crazy beautiful.

See what i mean? If you dislike this anime for any reason it most likely wasnt because of the animation.
The ecchi in this anime was surprisingly very well evened out considering the summary of the show and i dont really have that many bad things to say about it.

The Craptastic:

"He is found to be the only man who can operate IS and forced to enter the training school. Ichika's busy school life surrounded by girls has begun."
yes, for those of you that watch alot of anime you know what this means. another very predictable storyline from a writer that want to find any reason to get a under aged boy alone with 10 other under aged girls. To add on to the predictability of this anime (we should start calling them animated Japanese stereotypes) the girls are absolutely horny for this guy, but wait there is more! the main character is....drum roll please! *drum roll*....totally oblivious to those girls obvious advances! shocker! Even a 10 year old can at least tell when a guy and a girl like each other >.>. This anime had great characters with even better personalities however when all the supporting characters started showing interest in the main character thats when they totally dropped their personalities and turned into slobbering, obsessive, fan girls. It was a massive disappointment because one of the supporting characters was my favorite. What really made my jaw drop was the girls opinion on the relationship between Ichika and his sister, Chifuyu, whom is in charge of their class. There is a scene i the anime where the two sibling were talking alone in a room and they actually speculated that they were having sex. Japan and their incest, man....

Art and Animation:

5 out of 5
to be honest i wouldnt expect less from a new anime about mecha. They should have art and animation on eureka sevens level.

Characters:

 2 out of 5
As i have already stated above, the main character was predictable and the supporting characters were great and very likeable untill they started showing interest in the main character, then they just looked like any other girl from any other common ecchi.

Overall Plot

3 out of 5
with their school life the plot was very predictable, you can literally guess half of their actions and get it right.
the mecha aspect of the anime is very enjoyable and you will love every bit of action that comes your way.

since the anime is continuing i cant really say alot nevertheless i hope you guys enjoyed the review.
Im really intersted in your opinions about my review and/or the anime. also if you guys have any anime that you guys want me to watch and review please name them i already got a couple on the list so please post

if anyone wondered(or should i say cared lol) where i was on animevice i was searching far and wide for new anime (2009-2011 or still continuing) that us, animevice users, should be watching. one of my friends on this site pushed me to do these reviews and i want to say thank you because some of the anime that i found were A.M.A.Z.I.N.G., im just sorry it took me so long to make these.

summary:

In a world after death, angels fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen(they changed their group names alot during the series but we will call them the SSS), rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. On the otherhand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS members. SSS members utilize armed weaponry to battle it out against the angels harnessing supernatural powers.

The bad

when I started watching this anime the plot immediately confused the hell out of me (into the first couple of episodes) if the writers were trying to go for a more spiritual outlook (if you didnt catch it yes, they are in the afterlife) why the hell is are computers being used? dont get me wrong they explained everything at the end of the show however i could understand why someone would stop watching the anime with all the plot inconsistency. even at the end of the show they didnt really explain how Tenshi got her powers to fight the SSS or who created the world of which they were in. im guessing god is the obvious answer but the viewers would like to hear that considering all the confusion on the technology/spirituality subject. the world they were in seemed alot like the world in .hack except it had school life. The Angel, the enemy in the beginning of the series, obvious had powers however they were technological in nature. considering the fact that they haven't directly told us god created and controlled the world lets assume that god has nothing to do with it and it is mostly ran by computer, how can you connect spirits with technology and take the plot seriously?

The awesome

threw some miracle among miracles, the writer managed to flawlessly combine humor, violence, fighting action, sadness and romance making you completely forget the inconsistency of the plot and just enjoy the anime. the characters that the writer made were mindbogglingly original and unique in there own way. Its almost impossible to hate those characters. The characters background story was breathtakingly realistic and heartbreaking, your not watching this serious with out fighting back tears. the comedy in this anime literally had me crying at one point, i did not expect that kind of humor from this anime but they delivered and im more than impressed by it. The growing relationships between all the members truly took the cake IMO. They only had a couple romantic moment throughout the anime however those moments are enough to leave the view satisfied, i know i was. when it was all done and over with i craved more of this anime.

Ratings:

art, and animation

4.5-5
the animation is what took the cake for me. fighting scenes were short but absolutely amazing i would compare them to samurai champloos if not better.
the art is just as amazing, no complaints here

5-5
not one. single. complaint.
they were done beautify and i enjoyed every single one.

overall plot

3.5-5
the confusing plot in the beginning was disappointing but was carried by its entertaining qualities and the way it was put together in the end

i would recommend that every person on AV watch this 13 episode anime, your time will not be wasted.

teresa was an unstoppable force in the claymore manga however Priscilla is currently one. before you say "Priscilla " lets not that with a fraction of her power teresa dominated the partly transformed Priscilla with ease (until she got a lucky hit in).
