Many stories surrounded the woman whom most have gotten to call Bane. The first reports have been made during the middle ages and have remained mostly consistent till this day. A woman wearing robes that completely cover her skin and a helmet to obscure her head that comes riding into a town, followed by a thick mist that quickly embraces the area, creating a fine silvery veil from which there is no escape. The mist cuts the town off from the rest of the world, none can leave or enter. People have walked for hours in one direction, only to find themselves in the middle of the town once the mist cleared. Inside the thick forest of fog the inhabitants of the town find themselves assaulted by all sorts of supernatural entities. Demons, ghouls, ghosts, abhumans, lesser vampires and many other creatures of the night. And of course the woman herself, a powerful vampire who uses the cover of the mist to collect the blood of the inhabitants of the town. Those who resist seem to be slain in the instant. Some survive the draining, some don't, but even if the Bane herself doesn't claim victims the monsters that accompany her are always sure to leave the survivors with dozens of graves to dig.
The Bane rarely ever talks and no one has ever even seen her face, one which is said to be horrifying enough to kill anyone who's unfortunate enough to gaze upon it. Much like the fear and dread she inspires in the hearts of people hasn't changed over the years, so hasn't the story. It's still all the same, the powerful female vampire, her skin and head covered rides into a city and with her comes a thick mist with the horrors of the dark lurking deep in it. All that really changed is the time period. No longer does the Bane ride upon a black horse, but a motorcycle of the same color. Robes and gowns have been replaced by a black skintight leather bodysuit and the helmet is a biker's helmet now. That helmet has somewhat become a seal of recognition for the Bane, a bright yellow helmet with a black visor to obscure her face, a few blue details and perhaps the strangest of all a pair of ears on the top.
Though many question her existence one thing is certain, those who do meet her and live to tell the tale, don't forget anytime soon.
Not much is known about the personalty of the vampire they call Bane. Those that encounter her and survive say she never talks, in fact they are not sure if she can talk even if she wanted. Though she is regarded as horrible monster most eyewitnesses admit that there is something strange about her. There never seems to be any bloodlust when she approaches them, no malice or anything that would suggest that she's a savage beast. In fact even the way she moves is very elegant and casual, more like a surgeon approaching a patient and not a monster that's about to feed.
The Bane also uses a method called blood extraction. That means her fangs never even touch her victim's neck, she simply takes their blood and stores it into vials for later consumption. A rather intelligent move as biting victims would also turn them into a vampire and given the exceptional power the Bane posses, no doubt that her spawn would prove to be a formidable rival. Some people also say that they have seen her fight the demons of the mist that arrive with her. They consider it as a fight for supremacy inside the group, that lead many to believe that the Bane is not a very popular leader and she seems to have to defend her position as the leader every now and then. She also appears to avoid heavily populated places and she's much more likely to attack small isolated villages, only making the lives of those who live there harder than they already are. Many have also theorized what her true intentions are and what her goal is. The Bane herself never gave any clues on that matter and seems to mostly keep to herself, while other demons and vampires are more willing to talk if only to gloat. Because of the lack of information most simply dismiss her as pure evil.
Though she is feared by many, the Bane mostly remains a mystery to this day and her true nature has not yet been discovered.
The Bane has a very attractive, slender yet curvy body. The outlines of her body are even more prominent because of the skintight bodysuit she wears. Though no one has ever seen her face the helmet she wears has become a morbid sort of trademark for her and it's the one thing that's associated with her the most. Many have speculated what could be beneath it. Some say she doesn't even have a head, others say it's Medusa and there's a nest of snakes beneath the helmet while others think that it's a face that can kill with a glance. Whatever the case may be no one ever had a chance to fully see her face.
Another thing associated with the Bane is her black motorcycle and sightings of her outside the mist are exclusively of her riding the bike on desolated roads, through a forest or in a bland wasteland. The bike and the color of her bodysuit almost make her invisible at night, which is usually time she strikes and attacks a town.
Powers and Abilities
The powers associated with The Bane are numerous. First of all are her abhuman strength and speed. She can casually life her motorcycle with one hand and hold a fully grown man in plate armor with her other at the same time. Those who oppose her have been ripped to shreds by her bare hands in the past. Her speed also strikes fear into the hearts of her enemies. Though the weaponry of humans has advanced a lot since the middle ages it seems to be no match for the vampire. She appears to be capable of evading and outspeeding even machinegun fire, leaving most humans helpless and at her mercy. She is also very skilled at combat, having centuries of experience. She appears to prefer hand to hand combat but if things get serious she usually resorts to her personal weapon. Of course Bane is exceptional when it comes to stealth and disappearing in the shadows, some may even call it a supernatural ability though it really just boils down to skill. Her senses are enchanted, both hearing and eyesight are exception but it is the Bane's sense of smell that is the most fearsome one, she is capable f both sniffing out people and danger at a long range or simply gather information about them at shorter distances. It is also said that her skills when it comes to riding a motorcycle are without a flaw and that no man on Earth could be considered her equal in that regard. It often appears as if she is using dark magic to enhance her bike and she often looks as if she's defying the laws of physics while on it.
Though the Bane is without a doubt powerful she does have a few crucial weaknesses that can be exploited. First of all is the Bane's weakness to sunlight. The reason she wears the bodysuit and helmet is rather simple, she doesn't want the sun to burn her. So over the day even the most simple cuts and openings can inflict serious pain and damage and she is also weakened if she is directly exposed to the sun, even with the protection of her bodysuit. However, just like the sun weakens her, a full moon empowers the Bane and combat with her at those times should be avoided at all cost. Next is her weakness to silver, by far the most effective material to use against the Bane, though something as simple as silver plats and spoons will just be slapped away thanks to the protection of the leather, a well crafted silver blade is bound to put some pressure on her. Lastly there is her inability to cross running water. As such rivers can be a natural barrier to be used against the bane. Even artificial streams could be helpful so long they are of a decent size.
Body and Mind - The body and mind of a vampire are rather formidable. Bane sees the world different from other beings. Blood glows bright red for her and she can see every vein and artery of the living beings she encounters. Furthermore her body posses regenerative powers and she can heal wounds in a matter of minutes even in a worst case scenario. The only exception to this seem to be wounds inflicted by silver and sunlight and those will stick around for much longer and cripple her. Bane's mind also works in a similarly useful fashion, the thoughts of her target are all known to her, she hears them as silent whispers in her ear. Another aspect of Bane's mind related vampire powers is called Dread. Bane's very presence is enough to inspire a cold feeling of fear, however the real terror happens if she raises the visor of her helmet, gazing directly at someone. Those afflicted are paralyzed with fear and can only watch as Bane draws closer.
Mist Manipulation - The Bane can freely conjure up mist wherever she goes. At maximum density one can barely see a meter ahead. Bane can quickly cloud small areas but also envelop whole cities if needed. That mist is usually the signal of her arrival and she attacks towns under it's cover. It also appears to have mystical effects as people lost in the mist cannot leave and there have been reports of people meeting the souls and ghosts of lost loved ones while wandering about in the fogy maze. It is also possible for Bane to partially fuse with the mist, moving quickly through it and stalking prey over a very large area.
There also exists another variant of the mist. A black mist, one which can almost completely blind a human, it's color blacker than the darkest night. Furthermore it also drains energy, weakening those that are trapped inside and it is a lot more potent and powerful the the normal white silvery mist Bane uses. While those trapped in the white mist encounter the souls of loved ones the black mist only brings nightmares and demons, sometimes driving those trapped to the edge of insanity. Luckily unlike the weaker variant Bane cannot conjure up large amounts of it, in fact the only place of origin seems to be from under her helmet, leading many to believe that the mist is in fact her foul breath.
Shadowshifting - Bane's ability to control her own shadow is most apparent in the fact that her main weapon is in fact her own shadow. It condenses, shifts and slowly raises out of the ground becoming a huge scythe for Bane to use. The Shadow Scythe is very long but simple in design with a curved sharp edge. Bane is very skilled when it comes to it's use and often uses it while riding her motorcycle. Despite being a made of her shadow the scythe is solid, producing both sparks and a ear-penetrating sound when it's tip is dragged across the floor and it's sharpness is displayed in it's ability to cut through most materials with ease. Bane also uses the Shadowshifting as a form of shapeshifting. She can create sharp claws for herself or even completely transform her body by having her own shadow swallow it up and envelope it, giving it a completely new form.
