My eyes burn and I'm wondering why Age Of Wushu has provided in a few hours a more meaningful online gaming experience than anything else in recent memory. Cuz that game is kind of garbage-esque.
"I remember sitting in a room that was empty save for a table and a boy about my age sitting opposite me across the table. He could easily have been mistaken for a statue so complete was his stillness and intent his gaze. Upon the table were tiny blocks of many shapes and designs, some depicting on their side strange symbols while others were differentiated only by color; alike blocks were grouped together and each group constructed a unique shape.
'Why are the blocks all the same? Put together like that?', I asked the boy. 'They are supposed to be that way.' His voice matched his mechanical demeanor.
'Says who?', I waited awhile before deciding he wasn't going to say anything. I shrugged and reached for a group of blocks that had a vertical line on each side. Whether I touched the blocks or not, I don't remember. Some sort of blade or spike had pinned my hand to the table before it got far though. That was many years ago and I have since given up on reorganizing the blocks." - confiscated from the illegal belongings of the deceased Elira Fairchild.
I was thinking about what seems to me like an arbitrary set of systems that we all live in, the concessions and choices we make without them ever consciously tracing our thoughts, and wrote that.
