As some of you are aware, Shout! recently began distributing a series of subtitled Transformers DVD's titled Transformers: The Japanese Collection. So far they have released very high quality subtitled adaptations of Transformers The Headmasters, and Transformers Super God Masterforce.  Their next installment in this series is Transformers Victory which includes the pilot and only episode of Transformers Zone as an extra. But Shout! is not done with the Victory DVD set, expect Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo as future additions to the Shout! Transformers The Japanese Collection series.... Best of all these are incredibly priced, each complete series costs under $20.00 US, That is a rare price tag for a complete anime series in the United States.
This series of DVD's offers the first English subtitle translations that are official, with only poorly dubbed and low-quality visual and audio bootlegs from Europe having been floating around in VHS format prior. 
By the way, Shout! did not censor the blood and violence seen in the original Japan releases of these series out either.
Thank you Shout! for finally bringing this to America and at a very reasonable price-tag.

PS: Dunno where you are getting your broadcast but they were not showing DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, or Gundam in my area, they were showing Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, FLCL, Big-O, Bleach, FMA Brotherhood, and a couple other newer series

It was for April Fool's day, Adult Swim does something like this yearly, last time April Fools day fell on an anime night they inserted fart noises into all the episodes, this time they revived Toonami. I find it funny that the reaction to the line up of shows is what it is, as those are the same shows aired every saturday night/sunday AM anyway

Toonami is my favorite anime block in my heart. It will always be.

Thing is those other blogs/posts clearly did not get the joke.

On Sunday April 1st the Toonami Block made a brief comeback from 12 AM to 6 AM Eastern time, with Steve Blum reviving the Tom role and hosting Cartoon Network Adult Swim's anime block. Though this was a cool moment and got many of us fans excited, a quick look at the date on the calender revealed this for what it was, an April Fool's Day prank. We got to enjoy Toonami again anyway, if only for a night.

Antauri was my 2nd favorite monkey. Otto is the best monkey on the team.

Yeah it got canned at the close of season 4, Nova said she loved Sparx, and aside that it ended on a lot of loose ends, it was actually a good show.  Mark Hamill makes a great animated villain yet again.

While nothing about his personality screamed racist, Antauri's nickname "The Black Monkey" certainly garnished a few negative reactions, and the characters appearance did not help his case either, Antauri seemed to have an obvious resemblance to "Black Face Make-up" as well.
The reaction to seemingly subtle aspects of the character were swift, though there was never any aspect of the characters mannerisms that were overtly offensive, he was in fact the teams wise man, and the monkeys color scheme was simply a Saint Seiya homage, the masses needed to be pleased, and in season 3, Antauri was the only one of the monkeys to be changed, his monicker was changed from Black Monkey to Silver Monkey, his appearance was also altered.
Look at the images of the character in both forms and voice your opinion.
Were people dead on in thinking the character was offensive or was this an over-reaction in an overly pc world?

@sickVisionz:  Tend to agree, it's hard to sit through TF 2 ROTF with it's brutal three and a half hour runtime, Dark of the Moon was not much better in that category, I would say keep Bay on for effects coordinator and get a new director. Bay knows what looks cool, not necessarily plot structure or how to cut out things that dont work well into the linear story, Had to think this through a bit, but starting over from part 1 with Bay seems to be nothing but a sequel, guess it could be something like a time skip with Rodimus Prime.

@Trylks:  PG-13=shirtless men OK, scantily clad but not bare chested woman OK, no below the belt genitals. This is a thread about characters who push the limits of censorship

@Bigheart711:  I'd count Legion among the OK characters too, his tongue certainly looks suggestive, but it was in a manga marketed towards kids, kinda my point, these oddly suggestive characters exist in the mainstream
Also there are a ton of Ikki Tousen characters who are non-hentai and look just as, if not more suggestive then Shii like Ryofu Housen.

Now there is a no hentai rule on AV, so post with caution as far as images go, but this thread is basically a "what the hell were they thinking" thread, the characters shown should be PG-13 at best, but with some obvious hentai-like trait, these are the ones who seem weird to be in the mainstream, and yet are.
I will submit Transformers character Legion as the first example, his "tongue" is certainly suggestive

Calling this upcoming movie slated for a June 2013 summer release a reboot seems odd, Michael Bay has chosen to reboot the franchise with new actors for the next film (it is unclear if this includes voice actors such as Peter Cullen and Frank Welker) It remains unclear if this will be a bad lateral move as many believe it will be. This seems to be an odd choice in a franchise that contains a multi-verse and multiple timelines as well, for Bay to completely reboot the film series in the fourth movie may drive fans invested in the storyline of the current ones away. Though it remains unclear what Transformers 4 will become.

You may have wondered if you actually saw what you thought you saw if you were an anime fan watching the Super Bowl, but yes, Voltron made a cameo in a Met-Life insurance ad, His role was minimal, only seen standing in the background at the end, but this video Met-Life released on Youtube and Facebook of Voltron was far more worthy of being a Super Bowl ad in my opinion.

@MisterX: even if that is so, the image you used was the Wii booklet cover

This is actually the cover to a later issue in the series, site I used as a source had it mislabled, correct image also on the page so remove this one if possible from volume 1 of Metroid (I think this is the cover of Volume 4, my bad)

I was not questioning that Bloody Roar exists as a manga, however there are pages for every game character, and none appear in the manga, also there is a franchise page when the manga was only a limited series, that does not warrant a franchise page

edit: the no more heroes manga @MisterX: you are showing is from the games instruction booklet, I have a copy, I know where it comes from, there is also a large amount of NMH underground manga, nothing official
