Bug Reporting » Tweets are slow or sometimes do not post...

synching accounts seems to only have a retroactive effect now. i unsynched and resynched and once again my past missing tweets showed up in their appropriate date spots.
after going through this process again, i then posted a new tweet and saw that it had not posted here as should happen when the accounts are synched.
i will check several more times to see if the pattern has remained the same vicious cycle or not, but i am definitely getting the feeling that this is a bug and may end up contacting someone for further attention...

I also tried unsynching and resynching and after awhile all missing tweets had posted to my account here at all the appropriate time/date slots. I have now made a new tweet and I am waiting to see if it will also tweet here or if everything is back to being weird.
Update to follow...
update: it has been over an hour and my tweet did not post here. something is definitely wrong...

Bug Reporting » Tweets are slow or sometimes do not post...

How long is "a while back?" The occurrence of missing tweets has now been since June 23 that my last six tweet never made it over here. Things used to delay, but after as much as twenty minutes I would see tweets finally show up. Now nothing is showing up.
Even more interestingly, I made two tweets on June 23 and only one of them posted here while the second did not.

It would seem that none of my tweets are posting to this site anymore.

You can see when they were posted based on looking at my twitter account which is listed in my first post.

I now have four tweets that have not posted over here and were not replies.

1. What browser are you using?
A: latest version of firefox

2. What Operating System are you using?
A: win7

3. What is the exact link to the page you are having a problem with?
A: http://www.animevice.com/profile/djsquelch/

4. Details, details, details. Explain it in detail.
A: This is my Twitter account: http://twitter.com/#!/djsquelch and I have more recent posts there than I do here. Twitter is sending out my posts to other synched sites, such as facebook. I have noticed that there is often a delay before it posts here, but now it seems to not be posting at all even though it says that I am synched. Has a new flood limit been implemented or is something wonky happening?

Quests » New Quest Set: Ill Communication

I am not sure if I would agree with creating a quest where you must depend on others to get the quest accomplished. It would seem to me that a quest is something that is accomplished by the user rather than by the community or site officials.
Quests that depend on outside forces aren't necessarily accomplished as much as they are arrived at by the grace of others, such as following, messaging, wall writing, quoting, and so on and so forth. I cannot force those things to happen; they will happen as they may, which means I'm not really doing anything to get those things done. From that I wonder if I should really be getting the credit, or is it assumed I managed to get people to do those things to accrue the prerequisite needed through strategic action?
In support of that idea, I am reminded that I followed many times more people than those who followed me in return and that I have encouraged those to write on my wall by wring on theirs first or in return. Yet, that isn't particularly crafty strategy so much as it is a luck of the draw from my point of view.
I have been having fun with accomplishing the quests even though some have been considerably challenging to do (not to mention restarting the super sup check quest during the amazon snafu, gah!), but maybe some of these things shouldn't be quests so much as surprise badges, much like being the 100th caller/customer or duration of membership. Under the idea of badges (or what have you), there are many sorts of things that could be awarded that a user doesn't actually do or rather, set out to accomplish. I think that would be pretty spiffy in comparison...

Bug Reporting » quest blocks do not always become colored after completion...

@Godot said:
@djsquelch: Just realised why you didn't get the quest. You put "first" in your comment, which unfortunately counts against you, even if you didn't post just that. Here's another commentless video for ya.
You're kidding me. I said it was the first time I have seen that sort of video and it triggered as me being obnoxious? That's a really horrible automation. Nonetheless, I will try again. Thank you.

PS- It worked. I did it while before finishing this post. That was an awful video. No wonder nobody posted...

Bug Reporting » quest blocks do not always become colored after completion...

I have even been through several reboots and still the block is not colored.
Moreover, that quest was complete upon the first Wiki edit and I have since edited more than 25 pages and received credit for the other two quests that pertained to edits and their boxes are colored.

Also, Secret Quest from AV Club still has not displayed as credited and therefore set is not complete, either. Does someone have to approve that manually like Wiki subs or is it automated like most quests?

Bug Reporting » quest blocks do not always become colored after completion...

I have the experience and the message. The block simply does not become colored. It is a random issue, i.e. it doesn't always happen.

As for the second thing I mentioned, I didn't either as of yet.

stats:
firefox 4.0.1
windows 7

Bug Reporting » quest blocks do not always become colored after completion...

I have noticed this behavior before and initially thought I was just imagining things, but right now I can say for sure that i have at least one block that  has not become colorized after completion: South Boston - Part of the Problem.
In the past I have noticed that some of these blocks will fill in only after the entire set is complete. Sometimes it feels a little confusing at first glance to think I have more to accomplish than I really do.
As long as quests get marked as accomplished in some shape or form, it isn't much of a problem for me...
Speaking of which, I believe I completed the Secret Quest for AV Club and yet it is not marked as accomplished. I did ask for clarification in the forum and thought I had met the quest requirement. If I have not, then I need more clarification on what to do.

Off-Topic » another rainy weekend...

I know the feeling. Finances are so tight for me that I won't be going anywhere for vacation anytime soon. I haven't had a road trip since 2004. All I can do is make the best of things at home.

Thank you for the clarification. I really appreciate it!
It's much easier to complete quests when you understand the prerequisites...

Quests » AV Club - Secret Quest...

I am a little confused about what this clue is asking me to do. By any chance is the quest objective to submit a short video?
Everything else in the set is video-related, but otherwise I really can't figure this out:

Secret Quest
Here's a Clue

You're either really fast or really obnoxious. Strive for the former... or else.

1 Step Needed to Complete
  • Read the clue above.

Please help explain this to me. Thank you.

Just Anime » D. Gray-man dubs post season 2...

I just realized that Netflix, Blockbuster, Rent Anime, & Anime Takeout do not carry any episodes beyond the second season (episode 48, I believe), yet according to Anime News Network there are many more episodes to go and that the series is complete.
Has the rest of the series been licensed and released for the consumer market yet? I am specifically interested in the English dub version because my mother is nearly blind and subs just aren't acceptable so snagging subs online is sadly not an option...
Does anyone have the 411 on this?

Tokyopop » New Tokyopop Source?

While it is nice to know there is another site out there, it is a shame that it isn't available in a more universal language, such as English. Perhaps other languages will eventually be available.
I was aware the Stu was in Japan assisting in with disaster recovery efforts. I am glad the humanitarian in him has come out at such an opportune time, but I kind of wish it wasn't to the neglect of other projects and ventures.

On a side note, not everyone with ADD/ADHD is a blithering failure and might take offense to potential misunderstandings from such a reference. I am sure you meant nothing unkind toward those suffering from learning disabilities, right?
