Hello and welcome to another DHK's review blog. This week I giving double reviews, because I like the last chapter and wanted to do it first. Anyway, I'll stated the World Trigger now.
We started the chapter off with everyone (beside Rei) making a dash towards the bridge. We then cut to Jin talking about Rei's strategy of take over the riverbank instead of going for the bridge, he explain she being careful of Chika's cannon blast. We then go to Taichi, he is tracking both Rei and Osamu. But the rain and the wind is messing up his aiming, so he can't get a clear shot on them. Yuka then tag both Rei and Osamu, Tatsuya then request Yuka to send him the positions of everyone on the other side of the river. Tatsuya then order Taichi to head toward the river, he explain that Yuma have the Grasshopper and is probably going to use it to get across the river if the bridge goes out. So, he want Taichi to be there to stop him from crossing the river and he then tell Taichi to watch out for Rei's Viper. We then cut to Shiori, she updating Yuma on everyone positions and telling him it not a good idea to use the Grasshopper. We then go to Osamu thinking about the worst-case scenario if the bridge goes out. If all of Nasu Squad make it across and destroy the bridge leaving both Yuma and Ko alone on the other side of the river, they will lose the match. Yuko have made to the bridge and tell Akane to hurry up.
We then get a flashback with Akane crying. She is crying because her parents decided to move away, because of the last Neighbor attack. Rei understand Akane's parents reasoning, she then promise Akane that they will be number one before she have to leave. The flashback end, when Osamu attack Rei. We then go to Yuko, as she drawing her sword. She thinking that she only need a few seconds, but then the bridge explode behind her. Chika have destroy the bridge, Osamu then thank her and order her to hide.
Ko have catch up to Yuko, he is preparing to fight. We then cut to Rei as she is preparing to fight Osamu. The chapter end with a small flashback of Jin telling Yuko about her two opponents as she tell Ko to bring it on!
I love this chapter, love that we getting to know more about the opponent characters. I like that they not just there to make the main character look good, they have there own reasons to win. I like Nasu Squad's motivation, it so grounded, I can understand why Akane's parent want to move. They fear that there daughter will be kidnapped by the Neighbors or worst be kill. I like how Nasu Squad decide to take the top spot as a goodbye prize to Akane. The other thing I like is that we get a little there personality, I like that Nasu Squad's operator is a shut in.
I also like how the weather is playing a big role in this match, the snipers are having a hard time seeing there targets. There cloaks is causing them trouble because of the strong winds. I like how Akane isn't wearing one, because she knew the weather would be bad and her chances of getting detected by the enemy is about same because of the heavy rain with or without the cloak. That make World Trigger stand out from other Jump series, because most Jump series don't use weather effects that effect of the battlefield. I also dig that she is using a Lightning, I always wanted to see that in action.
I like Osamu taking no chances and order Chika to take out the bridge. He lost his ace but he make the battle a little fairer on his side. I hope we get a Osamu and Chika team up, I hope this time they get some points for them self.
Anyway, it seem that World Trigger is off next week. So, I guess I'll have a different blog up next time. It might be one about Digimon
I'll give this chapter a 5/5, it still a set up chapter, but it make me more interest in the opponent characters

Hello and welcome to another DHK's blog. Sorry, I haven't been making new blogs or been on the forums. I'll try to make it up with a weekly Manga chapter review of one of favorite New Shonen Manga, World Trigger. So, I hope you'll like the review.
We started the chapter in a flashback with Ko crying in a corner and Tatsuya wondering why he so sad. Yuka explain the reason Ko so down in the dumps is because he believes Arafune had quite being an Attacker because he have surpass him in skill. Then we get a little flashback about Ko learning to play Soccer from a couple of kids and quickly surpass them, they then stop playing with Ko because they can't beat him. Ko believe his Side Effect steal people hard work and he is sure that why Arafune stop being an Attacker. Tatsuya decide to get to the bottom of this and ask Arafune why he quit being an Attacker in person.Arafune tell Tatsuya that Ko is overthinking it and the real reason he quit being an Attacker is that he want to be an all-round like Kizaki and help train others to be all-rounds. He then ask Tatsuya to deliver a message to Ko. The message is pretty much said, you didn't steal my hard work and don't get too full of yourself.
We then get sent back to the present where Suzunari-1 Squad is getting ready for the Rank War Match with Tamakoma-2 and Nasu Squad. We then go to Tamakoma-2 Strategy Room, where Osamu is planning the strategy for the upcoming Rank War Match. He explain to his squad that Nasu Squad is most likely going for a mid-range fight to try to pinned down Ko Murakami. So he decide they should try to stick together as much as possible. We then cut to Nase Squad Strategy Room, where Yuko is reminding Akane of the strategy and the rendezvous point. Akane ensure Yuko she got it down, but Sayoko commented on that she was bawling her eyes yesterday, but Akane said she ok today. Rei then come up to Akane and ask if she can cover her doing the match, Akane agree. Rei then promise to get the points.
Then we cut to the Border arena, where Mikami from Kazama Squad is doing the play by play of todays B-rank match. She is join by Jin and Kei as co-commentary, Kei then ask if he can tell jokes but is quickly shoot down by Mikami. He then explain why Nase Squad choose the field they are fighting in today. After the explanation by Kei the match begin. Suzunari-1 and Tamakoma-2 are quickly caught off guard by the stormy weather, leaving Nasu Squad with a huge advantage as the chapter is ending.
I really enjoy this chapter, I like that we getting to know the opponents more better. I like how we see Ko's Side Effect have a downside to it and causing him to be isolate because he can master any skill in a short time and nobody want to play with him or teach him new things. This also explain why he isn't in A-rank yet, because he afeard of being alone. Also, like that Arafune also got some development in this chapter on why he quit being an Attacker. It really make him more interesting and I hope we get more of him in the future. But I a little disappointed that we didn't get any strategy from Suzunari-1 Squad, I really hoping they not relying on Ko Murakami to save the day.
The other thing I like about World Trigger is that female characters are more capable than the normal Jump titles, so I can't wait to see how Nasu Squad fights. I like how they take advantage and control of field. It seem like they are planning to isolate both Yuma and Ko (well, I know that what they planning LOL!). It really a solid strategy they have. But I'm still wondering if Rei is blind or Daisuke like to give his character crazy eyes.
Anyway, I glad that the Rank Wars wasn't going to be a cakewalk for other heroes. This match going to be an interesting one.
I'll give this chapter a 4/5, it a nice set up chapter with character development to boot.
Anyway, going to make another World Trigger Review probably tomorrow, hope you read it.

Hello and welcome to another DHK's blog, sorry I haven't been updating that much. (been a little busy) In this blog, I'll be talking about the new Shonen Jump title called World Trigger. Since, the Anime is coming out, I decide to make this blog about the Manga. I hype about the Anime, but it is being done by Toei (there Anime can be disappointing). I hope they do it justice
It have become one of my favorite Shonen, to read week by week. It take a little while to get moving, but where it start it can't stop. Here I Go! Burning Finger!!! :)
The story is about Neighbors (the name of the dimension aliens) coming to Mikado City to destroy the city and kidnap its people. But, the city was save by a mysterious organization called Border. Our story take place four years later, with our two protagonist. Named Yuma Kuga and Osamu Mikumo, one is a Neighbor and the other is a Border agent.
I like the story, it have a pretty simple plot. It pretty much about, monsters attack the city and our heroes need to protect it, the plot have room to grow into something bigger. World Trigger give me an Bleach vibe, with the mysterious Neighbors attacking the city. But, the difference are that the humans know of the Neighbors and are fighting back with the Neighbors own technology.
I also like how they world build, they don't info dump you in the first chapter. They usually use Osamu (he new to this) to explain things. But I wonder how he got his Trigger without knowing about Trion. I guess Border was randomly giving Triggers away
The thing I didn't like is the school setting, I have been watching/reading Anime/Manga for a long time. The school setting is very old for me and I wish Anime/Manga move past it. But that the only problem I have with World Trigger.
World Trigger have two protagonists, Osamu the goodie two shoes and Yuma who very outspoken. I do like how World Trigger have two protagonists, that are very different from each other. They have an chance to grow from each other as the series go on.
Osamu is a goodie two shoes who become a Border agent to protect people from Neighbors, he will stand up for the little guy if they are being pick on. He won't abuse his power on humans, he believe "it only get worse if you fight back". One of the reason why he join Border, is to fulfill his promise to his tutors. The promise is to protect his little sister Chika Amatori from the Neigbors, if anything happen to him.
At first, I didn't like Osamu. He was to goodie two shoes for me, but he grow on me as the series go on. The thing I like about him is he is a very honest character. He would put his life on the line to protect someone, even though he will get his butt handed to him. That the other part I like about him, that he isn't super smart or super strong. Making his fights more unique, he relay more on his skill to beat his foes.
Yuma is a very outspoken guy, that hate liars. He is a Neighbor, who came from the other side to find his father's friend. Yuma grow up on the battlefields and believe in "An eye for an eye". If you hit him, he'll probably will send you to a hospital. Yuma also have survivor guilt from his father sacrifice, he willing to sacrifice himself to bring his father back to life. Yuma also, hate lies and liars. He'll call the liar out, by saying that was a stupid lie. It easy for him to detect lies, one of his ability is being a walking lie detector
I like Yuma outspoken, he will call people out on there lies and speak his mind. He isn't like other Jump protagonists, who normally are saints and wouldn't use their power to hurt normal people. If someone mess with him, they will get hurt. I also like how experience Yuma is in fight, and don't like to rush into battle. He fight with a cool head and don't yell. His fighting style is reducing the foes movements and then strike hard, I like his fighting style because it not just punching or slashing.
Chika is a shy girl who get attack by Neighbors for her high level of Trion, she isolate herself so nobody else would get hurt from the Neighbors attack. The reason why she isolate herself, is because her friend and her brother was abducted by Neighbors and she blame herself for it.
I feel Chika have potential to be a great character in the future, she learning to fight in order to protect herself and others. It seem like she have overcome her trauma, in a battle. I hope she continue to grow in the future
Jin is an elite Border agent, who inspire Osamu to join Border. He have a lay back personality and have no problems with the Neighbors
Jin to me, have been meh. He do really do anything for me. For me, he just the cool lay back character
The fighting in World Trigger to me feel more like a sport Shonen then battle Shonen, with it heavy use on strategy and team work. The power source of this series is call Trion. Trion can be use to make almost anything from weapons, buildings and artificial life. But Humans or Neighbors can't manipulate it without special technology call Triggers. When they fight, they replace there normal body with a Trion made one. The Trion body is more stronger and more durable then the normal body. The Border's Trion bodies have a special featured call Bail Out, that let the user real body escape from the battle if the Trion Body is badly damage enough. But the features only for Border's agents, for everyone else they will be stuck on the battlefield
This featured remind me of Super Sentai (Power Ranger), how they transform from normal to there uniform. I like how they replace there body with the Trion ones, because the Mangaka can go all out on the battles without worrying about how will they survive in fights to the deaths. The downside to it, it will take a lot to kill characters. But the characters are more worry about saving the town and its people, if they fall in the fight then dozen of normal people will die. (so I think that balance it out)
The villains for World Trigger are mainly Neighbors Trion soldiers. The Trion soldiers are mass produced, bug like robots. They are design to abduct people with high amount of Trion and killing people with low Trion by ripping it out the Trion from the person. The reason why Neighbors are abducting people with high Trion, is because they need more power to fight there enemies. The Neighbors world is in a state of war and need power to win. The second villain, are Border. Most of Border believe Neighbors are evil and should be eliminate on sight.
I enjoy World Trigger, it somewhat unique and is a fun read. I recommend World Trigger to people who want strategy in there Shonen
4/5 (Top Notch)
Anyway, thanks for reading my crazy blog about World Trigger. I hope you give it a shot, and let me know if you like it or not

Hello, everyone! And welcome to another blog by DHK. Today, I'll be talking about two of the Simulcast Manga sites, Viz's Shonen Jump and Crunchyroll's Simulpub. This isn't a verses match, it more of a review (not really a big one) of them. I feel both sites do a good with the Manga they are translating. Also, I doing a Shonen Jump's giveaway. I'll be giveaway a year of Shonen Jump, the details will be at the end of the review. Here we go
Shonen Jump is a digital magazine of the one in Japan, it doesn't have all the series that run in Shonen Jump. But it does have One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, World Trigger, Nisekoi and Toriko. But Viz isn't limit to just Shonen Jump's title, they can get other Jump's titles like One-Punch Man, Blue Exorcist, All You Need is Kill and Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal. Giving our Shonen Jump a little more range, then the one in Japan
The magazine is pretty cheap, it only cost you $0.99 for an issue that you keep on your Viz account. For 12-Month, will cost you $25.99 (a steal). Those are great prices for ten to thirteen chapters a week for a year and some free Yugioh cards (meh). The downside to it, you won't be able to get any of the back issues if you didn't start from the beginning. Also, it only available in Canada, US, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. But, here hoping they will go global in the future
The magazine have good quality, there no watermarks, advertising or anything that mess up the art on the page. The two page spreads are done nicely, but sometime they not perfectly a line (But Viz do go back and fix it). The translation is pretty great, I haven't seen any hiccup with it. But the downside (if you really call it) they still use the English names like Zolo and Soul Reaper. But, I kind of gone over it, and it doesn't bug me anymore.
At the moment Viz have twelve Manga running in Shonen Jump, they are One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, World Trigger, Toriko, Nisekoi, Blue Exorcist, One-Punch Man, All You Need is Kill, Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal and the new Manga called Stealth Symphony. A big line up, some old and some new. Some of the Manga run on bi-weekly (like Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign and One-Punch Man) and others run monthly (like Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal and Blue Exorcist). The downside, some of the Manga are in the middle of an arc and hard to jump on if you not familiar with the Manga
Viz sometime put extras things in the magazine, like color chapters of One Piece and Naruto or a One-Shot by Masashi Kishimoto. They also do interviews with the Mangaka and have an Author Comments at the end of the magazine. They also did a year of Dragon Ball in color, I have nothing really bad to say about the extras
Simulpub is a little different from Shonen Jump, it not a digital magazine. It work kind of like their anime stream, you don't have to paid to read a chapter. Their range of Manga is greater then Shonen Jump, they have series like Space Brothers, Attack on Titan, Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins and Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches
It's free! For the current chapter, to read the past chapters you have to have an All-Access Membership or Manga Membership. Which will cost you around 4.95 a month and 39.95 a year (or you can get a guest pass from your friend). The downside, you have to have an All-Access Membership to have both Anime and Manga. You can't have them both without the J-Drama (which I'm not a fan of). Simulpub almost global, I think it missing some counties
I haven't gone through all of the Mangas yet, but what I saw it was pretty good quality with little hiccups in them. The downside, a lot of the two page spreads are not line up correctly (and they haven't fix them yet). And some chapters don't have the color page in color. It really noticeable, I hope they will fix it. The other problem I have is the they also have the English sound effect as big as the the Japanese one. That really bug, I like when the English sound effect is small, being big kind of take away the scene. Last but not lease, is the little boxes on the sides that tell you about the characters, it just bug me
At the moment, Simulpub have Twenty Seven (somewhat up to date) Mangas to read online. The titles are Attack on Titan, Fairy Tail, The Seven Deadly Sins, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Mysterious Girlfriend X, Space Brothers, Coppelion, A Town Where You Live, As the Gods Will - The Second Series, Fort of Apocalypse, My Wife is Wagatsuma-san, UQ Holder!, Sun-Ken Rock, Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru, Silver Nina, Inside Mari, Love Theory, Orange, Star Light Woman, Is this Girl for Real!?, Okitenemuru, King's Game: Origin, ReCollection, Action Mask, Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Spirit Circle and Shindo. The good having so making Manga, is that you have a wide selection. But the downside is that most of them are still running and Simulpub is taking it time translating the past chapters
Simulpub don't have any extras
My final thoughts, are they both are pretty good with some downsides (that I hope they will fix). I hope in the future their be more official Simulcast of Manga, I would love to have Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Magi, Vinland Saga and Silver Spoon. Thanks for reading and remember to support the Anime/Manga industry
Ok, time for the SJ giveaway. You have to comment on my blog about the the topic and I'll write all your names down (once) and go to a randomizer site to see the win. This giveaway will end in the end of the month
Sorry if their was any typo.
Hello, everyone! And welcome to another blog by DHK. Sorry, I haven't been writing that much blogs, I have been busy with life and also sorry for not doing that contest I said I'll do in the last blog (I still planning to do it, just need the time). Any who, before January ends I'll do my top 5 list of 2013. I decided to go with the best chapters of last year, because last year was the year of the Simulcasting Manga. With that said, here is my rules for my list
There will be spoilers in this list
I guess, I'll start with one honorable mention. This chapter is awesome, but didn't cut it for the real list
This was an amazing chapter of One Piece, it have one of the best moments in the series. The reveal of Sabo was nicely done, and both him and Koala being part of the Revolutionary Army and Koala being the first human user of Fishman Karate was just amazing and made sense in story. And we found about Toy Soldier's plan and the person behind turning people into Toys. It was all round a good chapter. But I don't feel it was the best for this year
This was an amazing chapter of Fairy Tail, it build up the villain of the arc to be a force to deal and show how dangers they our by taking out Laxus and his Thunder God Tribe and killing one hundred people. That show, the usual Fairy Tail's brute force won't work on these new enemies and they have to be more careful. But with recent FT chapters the villain feel like the same villains from the other arcs, so I hope FT build threat back up
World Trigger didn't start out that good, but it have been growing on me. This chapter show Yuma wasn't like the other Shonen heroes who usually new to everything and pure, Yuma is different because he already a skillful soldier who have seen combat in has day. He pretty much a cold blood killer when he isn't making a duck face. He pretty much destroy Shun Midorikawa for disrespecting his pal Osamu
This chapter was a great battle chapter, it introduce one of my favorite characters of the Deadly Sins, Holy Knight Guila. I really enjoy the art and the action, it show Guila was a force to deal and how far she'll go to inforce her sense of Justice. I also like the fact nobody really explain their powers to the enemy (Bleach), it them feel more smarter in figuring out their enemy powers. Also the cliffhanger with Ban and King was cool
One-Punch Man is one of my favorite Manga at the moment, I love the story and the art it was an all round good manga. Anyway, this bonus chapter was amazing. It show us the point of view of a police force in a super hero world and how they are being overshadow by the Superheroes. In the mainstream comics, we never really a view of the police and how they feel about the heroes, they usually cart the villain to jail or high five Spider-Man for doing a good job. It was pretty cool seeing the police's point of view in the matter
This is my favorite chapter of 2013, this chapter is the reason why I love One Piece. It pretty much show you how important Don Quixote Doflamingo title as Warlord is, it pretty much throw some countries into chaos. We also get to see the new Warlord the Genius Jester Buggy and it stand up the villains of the arc pretty well. And last but not lease, we found out Doffy have the Flame-Flame Fruit
Well, that my list for 2013. I might have miss some stuff, but I feel pretty good about this list. Tell me what you think about my list and share with me, your favorite chapters of 2013. Next blog (I'm hope) is Viz's Shonen Jump vs Simulpub
Thanks for reading and remember to support the Anime/Manga industry
Sorry if their was any typos.
