So I ordered this from Playasia and I just wanted to a quick review (Take a bunch of pics and say a few words) of it for anyone who wanted to also get it.

First,  It came in a big 10 in. by 7 in. box. As you can see the art on box is beautiful.

The contents in the box is this pretty dvd/cd case...

Pretty...
Pretty...

So so pretty...
So so pretty...

And this Tokimeki Yoko Book

In the Yoko book contents include:
Lyrics
Two storyboards of the music video - One is a rough and the other is a detail for animation purposes
An interview with Atsushi Nishigori
Yoko prototype designs
Yoko's costume designs for the music video
A 2 page spread of Yoko Official goods - Very cool, its full of everything Yoko
Voice Actress's Illustrations - Drawings from both Marina Inoue (Yoko) and Yukari Fukui (Nia)
Tokimeki Gallery - Pretty much consists of three pictures illustated by Kazuhiro Takamura

This is full color 132 page book. The book mainly consists of the storyboards sketches. However the art is great. If you are a Yoko Littner fan, you will like the many illustrations of her in this book, I loved it.

In the case there is both the music video dvd and the cd.

On the DVD there is the music video and an interview with Mari Inoue. On the CD, it has the main song, the karaoke version and a remix of the song. The music video was cool and the song was good.

The cost was about $33.  Yeah, who would spend that much for a music video and a "art book?" Of course, I did....but seriously this product is very high in quality. And its more about the art than anything else. So like I said before if your a big fan of Yoko Littner of Gurren Lagann, you will love this package!

So...Hello!
Well the main reason I joined Anime Vice was because 1: the Giantbomb dudes said so and 2: I like anime.  I was going to just post here and there and spend a little time checking the main page.  That changed however and I decided to help out and post updates to pages and do reviews (even though I dislike writing :P ).

Oh, by the way...in every new site I join, at one point or another I have to comment on my name and pictures.  I like the hammer and sickle, I am not a Communist!  Many people sadly don't know world history so most times it goes unnoticed but to the few who were wondering. So as you can tell, I add the hammer and sickle to my pictures.  I also like to draw.

A little about me (dealing with anime): I am a weird case (I believe so).  I am a guy so I of course like me some Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece.  But I also like stuff like Fruits Basket, School Rumble, and Tweeny Witches.  I guess I tend to love action and a love story. I also love Lucky Star and Shin Chan. (o-O) Like I said earlier, I am a member over at Anime Vice's sister (or brother since its just dudes over there) site, Giantbomb.  I am a gamer; live, breath, and uh...play video games!

So yeah...that's all I can say about myself.

Fullmetal Alchemist or FMA, for short, is a manga series written and drawn by Hiromu Arakawa in 2001.  The story is about two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, in search for a mythical object known as the Philosopher's Stone. This stone is said to amplify alchemic formulas and even able to convert materials with ease.
ANYWAYS, the story is set up well. The first volume introduces the two main characters and puts them into three different situation in which you learn a lot about them.  As the story opens, you learn a little about the Ed and Al's back story.  The author only gives a little just to entice but then starts you off years later, in the desert of Lior.  As they take a rest from their travels, they learn about a prophet who can grant miracles and even resurrect people.  This bit of news interests Ed into finding out more about the prophet and his church.
The interesting thing about this world is the alchemy.  Alchemy is essentially magic but with the focus on the scientific instead of the magical.  Alchemists use formulas and drawings to pretty much cast "spells."  Not really spells, and more like changing the chemicals and materials around them to other substance or objects. Since alchemy follows the Law of Conservation of Mass and the Law of Natural Providence. In other words, the basics of alchemy is "Equivalent Exchange."  Meaning that to obtain something, something of equal value must be lost.  Equivalent Exchange is a big part of the alchemist's, and the Elric brother's, lives.  For example, Ed can convert part of a stone floor into a weapon. Or make part of a train into a cannon.  The author really does inventive stuff with alchemy and really makes the world more interesting.
The story is very well paced with humor and action blended in together well.  It also manages to get serious for a panel or two before the story gets in a joke which is followed by some action.  That just an example and even though it might sound weird, the author pulls is off so well, especially with the help the art.
The art in FMA is very well done.  The characters are nice looking and detailed.  They show emotions very well too.  Even when they do something funny and the characters are drawn in simplistic form, they really still feel like they belong.  The art can go from very detailed to a circle and two dots and that never gets you feeling like something is out of place.
Fullmetal Alchemist is a great and fun read. Its well paced so readers get some story, action, and humor evenly through out the volume. Its a great intro to the world and series.  This first book really sets how the rest of the manga will be set up, so if you like this one you should read the rest of the series.
