We had a huge roster of manga to deal with this week! So huge, we attempted to have a special guest speak about them, but sadly they were too busy with life. Happens to us all, don't worry about it. ;p Please let me know what any of you think about the new banners since there will be related images every week. Let's start with someone very cute! <3

Quick Rundown

Bigheart's Thoughts

Much to my dismay on how many TV series I'm currently watching in general, Kimi Ni Todoke, Vampire Knight's Anime and Claymore's Manga are still on my "To Watch/Read" list, so I better keep the heck up. I'm not that caught up with One Piece either, but I thought it was interesting to talk about the huge number of volumes by now. <3 Fluffy, Fluffy Cinamoroll looks very cute. So cute, that I might try it out after all for fun. Finally, one manga from Taka's (rather dark) past shows up and I thought it would be better off reading it for the story since I think it would be more plot-driven than any other H-Manga I read.

Takashichea's Thoughts

Shamefully, I have read Velvet Kiss which is about Nitta Shin, an average businessman, has won the lottery, but he signed a contract while being drunk in a one night stand. He gets into a debt of 80 million Yen. His creditor tells him to keep a certain woman company in order for his debt to disappear. It's a good story, but if you're looking for more sex, you better skip this one. I'm interested in Vampire Knight vol. 14 and the manga for Pokemon Black and White. I have watched and read Vampire Knight but not Pokemon. I'm not familiar with the others. I heard of Claymore from Sotyfan16's Beginner Guide, but I haven't had time to try it. I'm looking forward to reading Rosario Vampire Season 2 which so much better than the anime. I'm behind in D. Gray-man, and I'm on volume 14 or so. I didn't know they were on 22. I tend to read manga from the library which is behind in the volumes. On a side note, I noticed a trend that Yaoi books on Amazon tend to be cheaper than Rightstuff. All the adult books were released on July 4th. :)

Update!!!

  • More manga series have been linked! :)
  • I re-worked the banner by moving the AV logo. I think this looks better.

Sorry I couldn't bring this to you sooner, but me and Taka still happen to have a life outside the sites we visit. Anyway, we had a lot to cover for you guys!

Quick Rundown

This is the last you'll see of this banner because I'm making a new one!
This is the last you'll see of this banner because I'm making a new one!

Bigheart's Thoughts

First, let me get this out of the way: It looks like RightStuf seems to have just recieved a bunch of old copies of the Hetalia Manga from somewhere, so they have them listed on sale. It seems a bit depressing since the covers are still from the Tokyopop versions. Moving forward, My most interesting catch is the full series re-release of the first Lupin III series. I don't remember seeing much of it right now, but it must've been fun. I haven't checked out Fujiko Mine yet, but I plan to see it soon (even though I'm already knee-deep into another wiki project right now). Some others that caught my eye was the release of Gantz Vol. 23, Blue Exorcist DVD Vol. 4 and the full series "Classic Collections" release of the Ouran High School Host Club anime. I already saw OHSHC and it was fun, but I bet the other ones might be pretty good. One more side note: Pokemon Conquest, the collaberation between the titular franchise and Nobunaga's Ambition has been released recently, and it looks pretty good. Heck, one of the characters prouldly has a Luxio. :) [picture and a few links via GiantBomb.com]

Takashichea's Thoughts

Out of the four (Bigheart) mentioned earlier, I have tried Blue Exorcist on Crunchyroll and Lupin the Third on UTB Hollywood. I love Blue Exorcist, but I'm at a loss with the ending since volume 4 covers episodes 20-25. It has a strong introduction, yet the anime is too short. For Lupin III, I love the show, and I wish I can watch more of it. My favorite character is Goemon due to two episodes that dealt with him: his past and a love interest that pretended to be a ghost. I've heard of Ouran High School Host Club due to my sister's obsession with it. I'll try it because I'm curious why my little sister likes it. After reading Gantz's synopsis and critic's receptions, it's in the same boat with Deadman Wonderland except with aliens. Both are very gory manga series. I don't know if I should try another anime like Deadman Wonderland.

Looks like it's time to bring the ol' Quick Picks segments back after the hiatus left by sora_thekey. Me and Takashichea will be taking his place, but I'll mainly post the articles. I also want to replace the current QP banner with a new one as soon as I get myself situated for next week.

Quick Rundown

For this week, we did have a conversation about some of the upcoming titles, but it turns out that both of us was too ahead of our times with the releases for both Sailor Moon (Manga) vol. 6's re-release (Early July) and the third graphic novel for Avatar: The Last Airbender's story. K-On's 2 Season has been released on Blu-Ray and DVD for North America and StaciWi of Screened seems to have taken some interest in the show altogether. Also, the fact that I haven't noticed the re-releases of the Tenjou Tenge manga until recently still haunts me. @__@ A bit more on what Taka thought before moving on...

Takashichea's Thoughts

Due to PenguinDust's blog on Moe Art Styles, I will try out K-On! to see the hype behind it. As for the other two, I don't think I like them since I'm not into gore or fan service. Lolopop Chainsaw reminds me of High School of the Dead, and Tenjo Tenge reminds me of Battle Vixens. (Note:The game also had some interest in multiple anime community sites, including ANN.) I'm also interested in the Blu Ray version for Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works that came out on June 12. I haven't watch it yet, and I'm a fan of Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero anime series. It's too bad that Avatar The Last Airbender: The Promise Part 3 is coming out in October. I just bought Part 1 and 2 of the series this week.

Aw, don't feel bad, Taka. Seeing this article should cheer you up. :)

It's all fun and games until someone chews you out for stealing their ramen at Aiya.

In case any of you either missed any new videogame news from E3, needed a reminder or took a really long vacation from the internet and news in general, the fighting game that Atlas and the Persona and BlazeBlue teams are responsible for is being released this summer and both ENG and JPN language tracks will be present for the North American release (so far, according to Siliconera). Characters from Personas 3 and 4 will be going against each other in a tornament at the Midnight Channel months after P4's story.

Systems: PS3 and Xbox 360

Trailer

The game will be released in North America at August 7th 2012 and will be released in Europe this fall.

Dealing with just HER alone was hard enough, but....
Dealing with just HER alone was hard enough, but....

As if more excitement (or concern) has elevated for Pokemon Black & White's sequel games, It was recently confirmed by AnimeNewsNetwork that there will also be an event added to them called the "Pokemon World Tournament" where many gym leaders and a number of champions from the previous regions and generations will challenge each other. The player character in B&W2 will be involved with the following...

Gym Leaders

  • Brock (Takeshi), Kanto's Rock-Type Leader
  • Misty (Kasumi), Kanto's Water-Type Leader
  • Giovanni (Sakaki), Kanto's Ground-Type Leader (Uh-Oh...)
  • Volkner (Denzi), Sinnoh's Electric-Type Leader

Champions

And there will definitely be more where all of that came from! Outside of the tournament, Cheren will return as a Gym Leader of Unova and Bianca (Bell) will become an assistant to Professor Juniper (Araragi) in the games while Cynthia and Dawn (Hikari) are also confirmed for the anime version's second season, which will be unveiled in Japan on June 21st.

Pokemon Black and White 2's Japanese release will be in June and will later be released to North America in Fall 2012.
