Fancy seeing you guys here!
Fancy seeing you guys here!

The shoe is on the other foot for our heroes this time as Mediator, Her Assistant and Y are all stuck in a blank dimension only to realize that they're actually in a manga that happens to be created by the Fairies. Now it looks like they have to make it an interesting story, or they'll be cancelled (which could result in death or worse).

Synopsis (via myself, from Screened)

The Mediator, her Assistant and Y are all mysteriously stuck in a manga that the fairies created and must devise an interesting plot to advance into the next panel, or else they will be cancelled and it could cost them their lives.

Good

  • I like how the Fairies created the dimension as well as the rules for it.
  • How the "Manga" was handled resulted in a rather amusing predicament for the three to handle.
  • Gives some truth about Japan's Manga Industry.

Bad

  • Some of Y's ideas in this episode were totally panned out after the second use, especially with her "Twists" to the manga.

Weird

  • The genre-bending turns into an entirely puzzling experience with everyone.

All we can do is to wait for the next episode to see what type of chaos that The Mediator will have to endure. ;p

YAY! We get to release this Quick Picks article on the exact same day that the actual releases are present! <3 I hope this happens more often, even though we're still in our college classes. This week, FUNimation re-releases the blue-kimono girl I knew since the late 2000's, Zombies STILL run amok in High School, the afterstory of a series that might've made you cry returns on Blu-Ray and we wonder Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego Yuki Nagato.

Quick Rundown

Bigheart's Thoughts

I remember watching Ai Yori Aoshi years ago. It was pretty good on my book and I thought it was one of the Romance-Themed Anime that aren't on BS Island. Now I'm thinking of re-visiting Season 1 via Hulu just to refresh my memory. However, I ave yet to see Clannad's 1st season and I'm very unfamiliar with the rest of the anime listed. The Disappearance of Yuki Nagato-chan sounds pretty interesting, I read some of Black Butler and I have yet to read HSOTD and "Is This a Zombie!?". Hopefully, either of them turn out good on my end. One last thing to point out is that I doubt that "I've Seen It All" is about internet videos at all. @___@

Takashichea's Thoughts

For anime releases, I have not tried any of these, but I'm interested in Clannad because its art style looks like Cardcaptor Sakura. I watched one episode of Ai Yori Yoshi due to Dream's hint on a special wiki side project. I'm not interested in the show.

For manga releases, I'm so stoked for Is This a Zombie Vol. 2 and Soul Eater Not Vol. 1. I never heard of a spin off series of Soul Eater that has an all female main cast. I'll try to get Twilight's manga adaptation just to tease my little sister who hates the novel. My little sister would smile when she sees this blog's latest manga releases because she is fan of Black Butler and Pandora Hearts. I'll get it or borrow them from the library. Lastly, we still get more yaoi titles. I find it interesting that there is more non-yaoi hentai anime than yaoi while there are more yaoi manga than strange hentai manga. Plus, All these adult books are sold on July 25, and only Colorful Harvest is a straight hentai series.

Surprisingly, things were light this week after all the craziness (and all the Hentai anime I had to mention) that happened last week. It may have been a break for the both of us, so we savored it for a short while and constructed these tables for you guys. Enjoy!

Quick Rundown

Bigheart's Thoughts

I thought Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was the better one because of the story, but as it appeared, I don't seem to be in the minority of this matter as I originally thought between myself and the Campus Lounge regulars. I'm not very sure if I should check it out Girls' Bravo since I've heard mixed reviews about it and I have yet to check out the others even though I have a good feeling about Book of Bantorra. I hardly checked out any of the manga series mentioned either even though I've been willing to check out 20th Century Boys for quite sometime. Also, now I'm very interested in Sakuran because I hardly checked out anything Geisha-related in years.

Takashichea's Thoughts

I have not tried any of these books, and I have heard of Phoenix Wright due to a video game. Arisa looks like something I should have little sister try, and Sakuran looks interesting since I haven't read any manga about Geisha women. I love the Fullmetal Brotherhood series more than first one because it had a better ending and it showed more cool characters. I like the first FMA series because it had more action and drama with more characters dying, and I find how Homunculi were created was unique. Plus, my favorite character Scar is better in the first series. He is too soft in Brotherhood. I'm interested in Fractale since I enjoyed stories about a pefect utopia due to being a fan of Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451.

Sorry I'm late, but I wanted to test the ride a bit longer.
Sorry I'm late, but I wanted to test the ride a bit longer.

Three episodes in, and so far, Episode Three still pulls me into whatever the holy hell is going on back there. There was also a lot of views of its page on Screened (either that or you all visited me there. In that case, thank you. <3) Anyway, some spoilers for Episode Three are present here, so I suggest you get caught up from here on (or just read it if you are one of the people that just aren't interested in seeing the series. In that case, you're really missing out, especially since there's a interesting new character in the mix. :[ )

Synopsis (via Takashichea)

Y arrives to Camphorwood village to start on the Human Monument project, but she gets totally sidetracked and kick starts a manga movement starting with some Yaoi titles.

Good

  • Y driving the Mediator mad as balls makes up for some good humor.
  • I thought the Fujoshi (female yaoi manga fan) fiasco that had erupted in Camphorwood managed to make things even funnier.
  • The ending of this episode is the biggest surprise from the Fairies so far.

Bad

  • Some of the terms that are used might not be understandable for others that are new to anime.
  • Not much fairy appearances. (They always seem to cheer me up at some point).

Weird

  • The blank space scene in the beginning was puzzling, but not as much as the conclusion was.

Next week, things are only going to get weirder from here on. I solely blame Y on that one.

Highlights

Panty and Stocking are finally on DVD, but Kirino, Chibi-Moon, a Bunny Girl and a Cat-Girl (both from the one shocking series that NEVER got away) seem to have stowed away this week. Me and Takashichea talked about those releases and one of us are chronocling these and the other past anime and manga releases in two seperate lists. Now, let's get the [BLEEP] back to business.

Quick Rundown

Bigheart's Thoughts

I had fun watching the subbed version of panty and Stocking and while checking out the two episodes of the dubbed version, I was having a lot of fun with it once again. I intended to buy the set, but it looks like I'll have to save up. Speaking of which, I'm still finishing up Sailor V and Volume 6 of the Sailor Moon manga gets an North American Re-Release. I seriously need to catch up. T_T As for Cool Devices, I came across that hentai over a year ago, and I thought it wasn't as vile as some other H-Series. However, it was one of the most frightening due to a few torture scenes between episodes. It was claimed as the worst thing that was animated by many reviewers back then, so their end of that bargain must have been far worse than mine. I bet those poor reviewers still might not want to look back on it anytime soon since it's gotten another multiple volume re-release.

Takashichea's Thoughts

I haven't seen Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, and I know for sure I don't want to try out Cool Devices. I'm more into smut not hardcore H stuff. For Sailor Moon, I'm more familiar with the anime, and I haven't read the manga. I definitely buy it or checked it out from the library. I'm not a strong fan like you BigHeart711, but I had some favorite characters, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Mars, and Tuxedo Mask. Fairy Tail Volume 20 is the end of the Nirvana arc, and I'm excited to read it.
