Bigheart's Top 5 of 2011

Of all the anime I've seen that were released in 2011, here are the 5 that really pulled me in with a smile instead of a frown.

1. Puella Magi Madoka Magica

The first refresher for the Magical Girl genre (or so I considered) since the first Pretty Cure. It pulls you in with the plot's dark elements, but leaves you surprised with an ending that's sure to shock and amaze the viewer (as have I).

2. Persona 4: The Animation

I was shocked and amazed that P4A was arriving and since its premiere, I thought it held up to its hype because the plot was so well-handled (especially for most of the Social Links).

3. Sket Dance

Yet another of the funniest anime series I've seen ever, and I haven't seen a lot of this yet! (Busy with my studies as of late.) Will check more of this out soon, but it already made it to my best of list 2 episodes in.

4. Bunny Drop

One of the best slice-of-life series I've seen not just this year, but ever since the days when I started watching anime. It warms your heart instead of treading it like some other series of said genre.

5. You and Me

Another notable slice-of-life series, except that it's one of the funniest series that I experienced this year.

6. Anime Vice Yearly Best Of

We've reached the end! :) Isn't all that painful now, was it?

I thought Persona 4 would make it in the top ten. My bet is off.
