Kuragehime (or Princess Jellyfish) just keeps amazing me with each episode. When I first saw the anime I didn't even consider watching it. But a week ago during my anime club's meeting we were able to watch the first 2 episodes. And wow, I was just so amazed that once I got home I watched the next episode. It has been a while since I was this excited to watch the next episode of an anime.

Firstly the anime is basically a comedy. Sure it has romance, drama, slice of life, and some politics, but it's really the underlying comedy that holds it all together and makes it all so beautiful. The writing and direction for each episode is brilliant, it knows when to take itself seriously and when to make a joke. The transitions and exposition in this episode are almost seamless from the start of each episode to the end. To me this made the episodes feel fairly short, but packed with humour and great storytelling.

I find it hard to really point to any particular scene or scenario that sticks out in particular episodes or in the series as a whole because almost every moment is worth remembering. As a comedy, by definition, we almost all know what is going to happen (in marriage or reconciliation). But part of the brilliance of comedy is watching how it all unfolds. Kuragehime has so far done an amazing job of telling a memorable and funny story.

What can I say? This anime has taken my breath away.
