GI Joe 2, Expendables 2 (although from what I've heard, Chuck Norris tried to ruin it), Safe House, and I want to see if Battleship really is the Call of Duty marines take on the Transformers, who are being led by Master Chief like that Superbowl trailer shows.

Yeah he wanted to make it a PG-13 instead of R-18 because of his kids. All's been resolved though. Still love the guy.

As for Battleship...kinda? Not entirely sure on the Master Chief part, but sure to CoD and Transformers.

I think Sword Art Online is pretty overrated; it's not that good.

General Discussion » Vice Pit Question Thread

  • What is/are the worst anime you have ever seen?
  • Have you ever fantasized about certain things you've seen in various anime? Like maybe a particular episode from a particular show that made you think, "I'd like to see that happen/be able to do that in real life"?
  • Favorite genres? Least favorite?
  • What are your anime pet peeves?
  • If you could pick one anime world to be whisked away/suddenly transported to (and live in of course), what would it be?
  • What type of ideas and elements would you want to see in a show/movie that hasn't been done--or done well--before (an example would be Madoka Magica, in which the magical girl/thriller hybrid worked surprisingly well for itself)?
  • What anime/manga series you think would work well/would you want to see in live action?
  • I apologize in advance for this dumb question: Have you dreamed of having your own harem of sexy anime ladies? If so, who would you include in it (amount doesn't matter, include your favorite female characters if you want to--go crazy)?

If I think of any more dumb, shameless questions like the last one, I'll post again. =P

Battles » Kenshin Himura vs Goemon Ishikawa (Lupin III)

Both Goemon's and Kenshin's speed and swordsmanship can be disputed, but I think Kenshin kind of has the advantage because he is more willing to kill than Goemon. But of course, that doesn't really determine the winner 100%.

Battles » max payne vs spike spiegel

Max Payne can do bullet time. Spike Spiegel knows kung fu (more specifically, Jeet Kun Do).

Max Payne can grow a sick ass beard. Spike Spiegel can somehow maintain an epic 'fro.

Max Payne can soak up bullets and come out alive. Spike Spiegel can do the same.

Both have problems. Max with his painkillers trippin' out seeing Valkyries and shit, Spike thinking everything's a fucking dream, etc.

Max Payne has Mona Sax. Spike Spiegel has Faye Valentine.

Max Payne was successful in getting a live action movie made; it stars Marky Mark. Spike's, however, will probably be in development hell forever. It was going to star Neo.

But if it's only in a straight up gunfight, all of this shit's fucking useless to the argument, so I'm gonna have to go with Max Payne. Because of bullet time.

Never seen it but sure, Master of Martial Arts. Queens Blade or Ikki Tousen would've been my next choices, so go for it.

General Discussion » Legend of Korra Question

Nah, not really. LoK makes some references to events in the original, but nothing that indicates you should watch the latter before jumping into LoK.

Big Boobs » Why are breasts considered sexual?

Boobs--or breasts, have always been viewed as sexual. Men are usually attracted to the opposite sex, and part of it probably has something to do with physical attraction. Maybe. It doesn't even have to be the female's breasts; legs, belly button, ass, hell even collarbone, and guys be fapping everywhere. It's in our natural instinct. It's the same thing vice versa. The difference is that nudity was much more tolerated back say, 1000 years ago compared to today.

The media just promotes what's already sexual in the first place, but to the point of exaggeration that it tends to create that childish mentality you're referring to. And it's not even just the media; religion and various social movements throughout history may or may not have had an effect on how we view sexuality on both men and women.

But that's just what I think anyway.

Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine » Thoughts on this series?

I'm lovin' it. First 3 episodes are well done and I'm looking forward to more. Really like the noir feel (in episode 2) and a nice introduction to the characters you might know already. Personally, I like the animation. The shadow lines are excessive at times, but I don't know, I don't find that such a terrible thing. It's got a stylish look to it, but it's all a matter of taste I guess. The new voice actors for Fujiko, Goemon, and Zenigata fit in well; didn't have a problem with that.

Additionally, he soundtrack is all jazz, which is cool. I love jazz and all, but I haven't heard anything yet that holds a candle to stuff like this:

Naruyoshi's done some good work with the jazz music, but yeah I would've liked for Yuji Ohno at least to be involved in some form or another.

But I am a Lupin III fan, so take that as you will. I haven't seen Redline, but so far I've heard mixed reactions to it.

Also, boobs man. Boobs.

General Discussion » Should I watch Fate/Zero or Fate/Stay Night first?

@sickVisionz: Ah, I guess from somebody who's seen all 3, it certainly feels that way. But I still think stay/night should be first because the production is better later on. Kind of like a save the best for last if you will.

General Discussion » Should I watch Fate/Zero or Fate/Stay Night first?

Fate/stay night first (then Unlimited Blade Works), then Fate/Zero.

You're probably going to get lost story-wise if you jump into Fate/Zero first, so go with the original. Unlimited Blade Works is an alternate version of stay/night; you're free to watch that one (after stay/night of course), but I feel it's not really necessary overall.

Additionally IMO, the quality gradually just gets better if you watch it in that order, but that's just me. I thought Fate/Stay night was decent; UBW was better than the latter, and Fate/Zero is pretty awesome (so far).

General Discussion » An early look at the summer 2012 anime season

Eh, I don't know. None of them seem interesting to me. I'll probably end up watching some of them once I hear feedback from others, but nothing leaps out at me. Well, maybe Seitokai Yakuindomo, cause I think it's pretty funny. Probably once I get more info or see some PVs, I'll be more convinced? We'll see, I guess.

Right now, Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki is the only one I'm really interested in. I liked Summer Wars as well as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, so this should be good.

Battles » Dante vs. Bayonetta

@Sonata said:

@GIRUGAMESH said:

Bayonetta without a doubt. Not only are her feats more impressive (her ultimate attack being strong enough to send an opponent into the sun), but the creators themselves stated that she was the most powerful character they had ever created.

There is your answer. Remember that the creators of Bayonetta also created Dante.

I like Dante, but Dante never punched a god into the sun. So Bayonetta wins.
