Princess and Priestess of the Nihon kingdom in Japan. She has the ability to see the future. She sends Kurogane on his quest to find the meaning of true strength.
Tomoyo is a frequently featured character in this series. She is most often seen as the princess of some country. She is, most notably, the princess of the Nihon kingdom in ancient Japan--Kurogane’s home. She cares very much for Kurogane, though it is not certain if her feelings are romantic. She forges a special sword, Gin Ryuu, for Kurogane and in return makes him promise to use his strength to protect the people he cares for. When Kurogane breaks his promise, she sends him to another world where he meets Yuko and begins his journey with Syaoran, Fay, and Sakura.
Tomoyo possess magical abilities that associates with the moon, hence her hereditary name Tsukiyomi. She has a variety of powers at her disposal allowing her to do a number of things, her most and known ability was to communicate with other's through dreams, or at least different incarnation of herself. She could also see into the future, which helped her learn of Kurogane mother's death. She is also an accomplish seal barrier priestess, casting seals on Kurogane that if he shall kill then he gets weaker and protecting Nihon with wards from demons. Like Yuuko, Tomoyo can also transport people to other dimensions. Tomoyo could also create constructs out of magic energy, which she used to bind Kurogane to a pavement wall and protect herself with a force field.
