The character who represents the country Poland. He talks with a valley girl like speech pattern. He is close friends with Lithuania and has an odd crossdressing hobby.
Cheerful, fairly selfish, somewhat forceful, he is also impetuous and sadly short-sighted. Like Lithuania, other nations could take advantage of him with ease. Although it can be noted that Poland is a strong country because he was able to come back even after he was defeated by Russia.
Poland often seems unconcerned with Lithuania's problems despite being so close. When Russia took Lithuania to work as his subordinate during the time of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Poland appears to disregard Lithuania's cries for help and comments "Dude, your face cracks me up!" Although, this was a scene from Lithuania's dream when he worried about Russia invading Poland. Their friendship may have been initially one-sided.
But that is not the case in the present setting of the anime as Poland's character changes over the years. Poland is shown to be undaunted by Russia's threats and boldly defends Lithuania from him. He is somewhat less selfish than he formerly was.
Poland does not get along with Prussia. Even though Prussia was banned from Hungary and had to live with Poland in his house for a while, they argued with each other a lot. At the Battle of Tannenburg, Poland defeats Prussia with Lithuania, but could not get the full worth of the victory due to economic problems. Their relations only further dissipate because the Prussian-seized land, Silesia somehow ended up as part of Poland.
