Before I hit the hay, it's 4AM on my end. What's your most favorite Pokemon game? For me, I would go with Emerald.
@takashichea: Why did they do a remake of those two series?
Because Ruby and Sapphire are the last pokemon generation that isn't on the Nintendo DS. Plus, the Pokemon games print out lots of money and they need all the money they can get.
It was best when they remade Silver and Gold because they were in the Game Boy Color generation.
Are you telling me that you don't want to see Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire in the glorious X & Y engine? (see footage of sneak peak of the new Pokemon game)
I guess for me personally, I started out with Leaf Green because I didn't had a chance to play the older generations. I worked my way up from Leaf Green to Emerald and then to Platinum. After I stopped there, my siblings took it from there. I just got to wait and see what kind of content they have. I didn't buy the Wind Waker HD Remake or Ocarina of Time since I played those games on Gamecube. There wasn't much content there for me to replay it. The replay value in Zelda is much lower than Pokemon for me.
My only question is; are they going to be making an Emerald remake, or at least including all the content added in Emerald into both versions? And that INCLUDES adding Rayquaza into both versions. I'd also like to know if they are bringing back that hidden base mechanic, but making it 10x better and customizable.

While studying for finals, my mind drifts off. I had a thought about the Ruby and Sapphire Remakes after recalling my Emerald happy days. They should bring back Battle Frontier. I remember in Emerald, I beat Pike Lucy, Brandon, and Factory guy (forgot his name) once. Freaking Brandon's pyramid was damn hard to complete for gold. I tried different strategies. Man, the endurance to survive each level was surreal. I never completed the Battle Frontier after hours of grinding and doing EV training. My poor Milotic Steven was great in Special Attack, but he was screwed in Defense. Once I transferred my beloved team to Platinum, I lost my drive to start over. Platinum's battle frontier wasn't that engaging or interesting. It was challenging but not as addicting like Emerald was.
Besides that, Pokemon Contests didn't do much for me.
