Sure, some of us are really excited for Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, but on the other hand, some of us are still a little stuck in the past. I myself haven't played a single Pokemon game since Red and(/or) Blue (and I probably couldn't tell you which it was, either), and I've never felt particularly tempted to pick up one of the newer Pokemon games. It...it all used to be so much more SIMPLE! Oh god, I think I'm going to cry...

At least THIS guy knows how I feel!

That song was magical.

The thing is though, you can still keep the games relatively simple and just play them how you played the originals, most of the extra stuff is optional, contests, shiny pokemon etc.

I totally agree about Suicune though, I've never figured out how to pronounce that...

Haha, that's a great video! Lot's of great nostalgia. I remember when I first got red, I spent DAYS playing it, from early morning to bedtime.

Of course I don't miss having to buy batteries for the damn thing, and a link cable. The DS era is so much better.

The box he burned was empty look at the cut between when he shuts it and picks it up. Also it still doesn't change that Gold/Silver/Crystal is the best version of the series to date and now that they have remade it with what made G/S/C great along with other newer improvements, I'm going to say Heart Gold/Soul Silver will likely become the best one. (I mean it still remains to be seen)

That song is brillinant.

I understand people's gripes about the new games...I actually prefer old school games like Sonic and others, but since I love Pokemon more than any game, I've been following it all these years and I love the new games because of the amazing graphics, more intricate story/plot, more lovable pokemon, and more fun features. It did suck that the old games weren't compatible with the GBA, but at least the GBA games are compatible with the DS. Red and Blue were great (as were their glitches!) for their time, but they did have a lot of flaws as far as game mechanics. The games keep getting more exciting in my opinion, but then again I'm just a hopeless fan XD

@Konanda: Well, duh...why burn up your stuff for a music video when you could keep it? =p

To show his dedication to his art? It was just a really bad cut I noticed and ya he had some pretty cool stuff there.

This is why i use an R4ds with an emulator. I have all GB/GBC pokemon games on just one card :)

I've been following the games since the old days though I regrettably skipped the G/S/C games [and later FR/LG] -- which is why I'm so hyped about HG/SS, since it'll give me a chance to try what I've missed. Though from the ones I've played after the original ones, I can say that I still like their additions...well, except for the new evolutions for the originally no-evolution Pokemon added in the 4th generation those just looked silly. The kleptomaniac in me keeps telling me to catch 'em all, and so I do. XD;;

@Miken: Dude yes, I completely agree that the fourth generations evolutions to the no-evolution pokemon were bs. Lickytounge was sorta cool before, now it just looks stupid, and tangela was one of my favorite of the pokemon I never actually used, now I feel, ruined. Didn't mind that dragonfly thing turning into yanmega though, and dug honchrow, but yeah all the first generation single pokemon that got new EV's look like crap.

But that's another thing that bothers me with the new games, for some reason they seem to think you can't just add a new evolution to a pokemon you couldn't previously evolve using a certain method. Like for instance it would make sense to use a leaf stone to make Eevee become Leafeon, but since there was leaf stones and Eevee's in other games and it didn't work then, they won't let you do that and instead just keep coming up with more and more silly and complicated ways to evolve pokemon that you'll need a faq to figure out most of the time. That's no fun!

I want new pokemon you can evolve using a fire or a waterstone, or through trade without having to find some rare, 1 per game, item to attach to it damnit!

@RockmanBionics:
But that's one of the ways of keeping it fresh by adding new methods through which evolution occurs.

beautiful. I cried as i remembered the simplicity and perfection that was red and blue. And using ditto as a whore does not seem nice to me.

I agree but it wasn`t always good. a group of kids stole my cards and another kid in Germany or something was beaten to death for his. after that Pokemon cards where banned from my school.

Awwww we had like underground pokemon card battles at my school. Then came Yu-Gi-Oh, then Bayblades or what ever they were called.
