Seems like POKEMON HEART GOLD & SOUL SILVER were just leftovers (albeit rearranged and with spices added) to keep fans satiate before the new meal of two brand new games from Nintendo - - POKEMON BLACK & WHITE. Furthering the culinary conceit, this announcement is something of an appetizer… actually scratch that, it’s not even enough of an appetizer. It’s more like a pre-meal mint, before April 15. On the date, fans will be hearing more details about the games, but for now, the facts are limited to this: these will be brand-new games for the DS, rather than revamps, and they’re going to be dropping sometime in the fall. Oh! And we’ve got these logos ( courtesy of Kotaku).
You know, considering how this series has cycled through color-themes over the various incarnations, I can’t help picturing POKEMON BLACK as a darker version of the game. Would you fans of the series like that? I figure if the Picaresque DRAGONBALL can evolve into the older-skewing DRAGONBALL Z, it wouldn’t be that much of a stretch to picture a darker version of POKEMON that aged along with its audience. Would you in the constantly-evolving POKEMON community want to see the adventures of Ash Ketchum progress into something slightly more mature? Think about it.
