The Pokédex is a device used to record data on Pokémon, it is an encyclopaedia used by all registered Pokémon trainers to record the data of Pokémon seen, or caught. The Pokédex is broken down into regions; the Kanto system, Johto system, Hoenn system, Sinnoh system, and Unova system. During various times a trainer can get his or her Pokédex updated.
