Phantom Books

Overview

Phantom Books are books with mystical powers, created from strong emotions such as fear and madness. They have been brought into this world, however, they were never meant to exist. The mystical powers that these books contain do not follow the rules that govern the world we live in. When these books are in the possession of a reader that is able to fully understand and comprehend it, the reader will attain great blessings. When placed in the wrong hands. The powers of the book will enter our world, and create uncontrollable chaos. In spite of its mystical powers, in the hands of those who don’t understand it’s merit, the Phantom Book will act as a normal book.

The Phantom Books’ powers increases and decreases with the waxing and waning of the moon. The books reach their maximum strength when the moon is full.

The Harlequinade	The author of The Harlequinade is Robert Sayer. This Phantom Book is a pop-up book created in the 18th early century. The book's mystical powers include the ability to summon creatures and people that would be found in a circus. Examples of what this book could summon are: lions, elephants, dragons, sword jugglers, and knife throwers. The Harlequinade was sealed by both Huey and Dalian.	Episode 1: Turn-up Book
Liber de Nymphis	The author of Liber de Nymphis is Paracelsus The Alchemist. This Phantom Book has the ability to summon elementals. These summoned elementals can then be used to battle one's enemies. The elementals of this book are: Gnome - Earth Elemental, Salamander - Fire Elemental, Sylph - Wind Elemental, and Undine - Water Elemental.	Episode 1: Turn-up Book
The Book of Fetus	A Phantom Book which was used to summon an obedient golem which fulfils its' summoner's command.	Episode 2: Book of Fetus
The Book of Styx	The author of The Book of Styx is Caron the Sage of the Undead. This book was kept as a record of the goddess of the underworld. This Phantom Book has the power to create a barrier that can withstand the attacks of the strength of up to one thousand spears. This Phantom Book was used by Huey to defeat golem summoned by the Book of Fetus.	Episode 2: Book of Fetus
The Clay Tablet of Ugarit	This Phantom Book is considered one of the oldest of the Phantom Books, and glorifies Canaan, a thunder god. This Phantom Book has the ability to summon powerful lightning. The Clay Tablet of Ugarit was used by Huey to defeat the golem summoned by the Book of Fetus and the clock tower.	Episode 2: Book of Fetus
The Book of Wisdom	The author of The Book of Wisdom is an unknown Latin youth. The Book of Wisdom was thought to have been lost, and it's ability is granting it's reader absolute knowledge.	Episode 3: Book of Wisdom
The Book of Soul Exchange	The author of The Book of Soul Exchange is Asclepius, the mythical doctor. This Phantom Book contains a secret ritual of resurrecting the dead, inscribed in a forbidden text called Ras Alhague. This ritual isn't perfect since it needs the sacrifice of another human soul to resurrect the other. The resurrected body only has a life span of one day until the body begins to rot. Taoist sutra on the Manipulation of Spirits	A Phantom Book that was thought to have been long lost, Taoist sutra on the Manipulation of Spirits is a Phantom Book that gives life to dolls.	Episode 6: Libricide
Gandharva Sacred Text	A Phantom Book that teaches different recipes of making perfumes.	Episode 7: Perfumer
Unknown Phantom Book	This Phantom Book was used by Huey to revive someone who suffered a fatal wound. This Phantom Book can only be used to save a human's life once.	Episode 7: Perfumer
Book of Equivalence	This Phantom Book allows the user to trade anything with another with its equal value. The problem that accompanies this book is that the value of something varies from person to person, and hence, if something was considered as worthy as their own life, then the book would trade in the life. Book of Relationship	The Book of Relationship is said to have first made an appearance 3000 years ago in the Mediterranean. Supposedly, the book has the ability to guide its owner to their soul mate. This book is actually composed of two books that, when combined, form the Phantom Book. The significance of the two separate books are that of two trees with entwined branches; hence bringing each of the two owners of the books together. The Book of Relationship is also infused with the power of Hecate, goddess of the underworld and night, and Colchis, who controls both curses and childbirth. The dark powers of these two supernatural entities can be unleashed when one of the two owners think or perceive that their partner is unfaithful. This will cause the unfaithful / thought-to-be unfaithful partner to get burnt. The only way the bond between two of the owners can be broken is by the death of one of the owners.
