Paragus

History

Paragus is the father of Broly, they both shared a hatred for the royal family of Planet Vegeta however Broly had a subconscious hatred for Goku, Paragus' name is a pun on asparagus. When King Vegeta was told of Broly's incredible power he feared that Broly would one day overthrow him and that he is a threat and ordered the execution of Broly, Paragus attempted to plead stating that Broly was only a child and that he could be a great help to King Vegeta and the prince however Paragus' words were instantly ignored and King Vegeta ordered that Paragus be executed with Broly after this was said King Vegeta struck Paragus with an energy blast, Paragus and Broly were both thrown out to space like garbage, but Broly's latent power brought them back to life and when Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta, Broly created an force field around them to protect themselves and they were transported to another planet, Broly is not seen with a tail and only has a tail during his birth this is possibly because Paragus cut it off fearing the power Broly would have if he was ever to transform into a Great Ape. He somehow knew Bardock although it is never stated how they knew each other or how they met however he immediately recognized Goku as Bardock's son, during Broly's adolescence in which he seemed to already be a Super Saiyan he was rampaging through space and when Paragus attempted to restrain Broly, Broly gouged out Paragus' left eye which frightened Paragus and he became aware of Broly's rage, excessive violence and psychotic personality and eventually had a scientist build a device capable of controlling Broly to keep him under bay as Paragus feared for his own safety, when he attempted to place the device on Broly's forehead he was nearly attacked and just barely survived the assault. Paragus' first intentions with the device are nearly unknow as he first seems to fear for his safety but Paragus later realizes that having Broly under control he could use his son's power to conquer the universe, Paragus had Broly destroy several galaxies as King Kai even witnesses one of the galaxies being destroyed and learns that his home galaxy is next and so he has Goku find Broly who was rumored to be The Legendary Super Saiyan which is later revealed to be true, Goku brings along his friends and Vegeta who goes at his own choice as he believes he can stop The Legendary Super Saiyan much to Trunks' reluctance to let him leave.

Paragus learns of the planet Earth and it's beautiful environment and useful minerals and resources and wishes to conquer the planet but he hears of powerful heroes called Z Fighters who protect the planet and he learns that Vegeta is one of them and so he decides to take revenge on the prince if not his father King Vegeta. Paragus sets up a fake kingdom on a barren planet called New Vegeta and travels to Earth asking Vegeta to help him stop The Legendary Super Saiyan, Paragus bows down upon seeing Vegeta as part of his plan and Vegeta immediately recognizes him as a Saiyan. Paragus lures Vegeta to New Vegeta and eventually meets Goku there, at first Broly appears calm but later after seeing Goku his anger rises and at night he goes beserk and due to the device on his forehead he is only able to transform into a restrained Super Saiyan form and he attacks Goku and even with this device restraining a great deal of his power, Goku realizes that Broly is The Legendary Super Saiyan and that Paragus is lying about Broly being otherwise. In the morning Goku tells Vegeta about Broly however Paragus interevenes claiming Broly is too weak to be The Legendary Super Saiyan however Broly goes into rage upon seeing Goku again and begins to slowly pursue him and transforms into his restrained Super Saiyan form and even brushes off one of Vegeta's most powerful attacks with ease and Paragus begins to reveal who Broly truly is and that he will destroy the Z Fighters, Paragus also reveals that New Vegeta is in the way of a comet that will approach the planet soon. Broly eventually breaks the device and transforms into The Legendary Super Saiyan and begins fighting the heroes and completely dominates them, Vegeta who is not willing to fight as he has lost all hope as he said Broly is too powerful, that he is The Legendary Super Saiyan and that there is no way they can defeat him, Paragus begins telling Vegeta about Vegeta's fear of death and much about their hatred towards the royal family and he later attempts to escape New Vegeta to avoid being destroyed by the comet and as he enters his space pod he shows signs of regret in regard to leaving Broly to die during the comet's collision however Broly overhears and crushes Paragus to death while he is still in the pod and then launches the pod towards the approaching comet, Broly comments on Paragus' words sarcastically saying "Did he really think I would die just because this planet would be destroyed?" and during his final hours Paragus comments on being crushed by Broly as he says it is the worst fate possible as he is being killed by his own son.

Powers

Paragus has the typical powers of a normal Saiyan such as superhuman strength, superhuman speed, superhuman agility, stamina, flight and energy manipulation. Paragus seems to posses the power level of a weak lower class Saiyan warrior and is unable to transform except into a Great Ape however his tail is never seen it is known that he had one as all Saiyans are born with a tail. Though this isn't a superhuman ability in his arsenal, Paragus did have a scientific craft in his possession that he used to keep Broly under control, it was eventually rendered useless when Broly transformed into the Legendary Super Saiyan and broke the device that he wore on his forehead. Like Broly, Paragus' energy blasts/ ki blasts were green in color, hinting that it is perhaps a genetic trait in his family.
