The fifth movie in the the Kara no Kyoukai movie franchise.
Enjou Tomoe's life couldn't be more rough. He's quit school, his parents don't get along anymore, and his family has had to move several times since his father accidentally killed a person in a car accident. Every night he dreams that his mother is going to stab him to death when she enters his room, until one night he kills her before she can react.
Frightened, he runs away from home, and after being chased by some old enemies from his school days after his money, Shiki shows up and beats the lunch out of them (in one case, literally). Tomoe, [confused?] at his rescuer's beauty, confesses he killed his parents to her, and asks if he can stay at her place since he has no where else to go. Shiki takes him in, and Tomoe spends the next few days scouting the town for news of his parents murder. After more than a week however, Tomoe is shocked to see his mother alive in public, so he goes back to Shiki's place to tell her.
After questioning what he saw for a moment, Shiki and Tomoe decide to visit his apartment complex. In the meantime, Touko and Mikiya have been investigating the same building after one of Touko's detective friends tipper her off on a strange case of a homeless man claiming he saw a murder scene there.
