So, how many of you guys have been reading VIZ Media's release of Aya Kanno's manga Otomen? And by “you guys” I mostly mean “you ladies,” since it's very much a shoujo series, from Hana to Yume (though I hope you boys are willing to make that cross on occasion.
Preaching aside, then, Comic Natalie reports that the manga is getting a J-drama adaptation. The manga tels the tale of a guy who's GAR on the outside and boy-moe on the inside. Well, no, he's not really boy-moe on the inside, he's really just more...girl. Actually, the best comparison might be Azumanga Daioh's Sakaki, if she were in a dude's body.
There's a bit of casting information, for those of you interested:Masaki Okad, probably best known as Sekime in the HanaKimi drama, will be playing the lead, Asuka Masamune. Heroine Ryou Miyakozuka will be played by actress Kaho, an award-winning actress who played the lead in Tenne Kokekkou, a film based on Fusako Kuramochi's manga of the same name. Okada played her romantic interest in that film, too, as it happens.
What say you? Do you wanna watch? Crunchyroll's been getting all those Kdramas lately; I wonder if they've done well enough for them to start getting bigger-name Jdramas too?...
