Creation
Even though Kenta Shinohara, the creator, did not say anything specific about what inspires him to create Otakura, it is assumed that Otakura's name is a play on the Japanese word, Otaku. Otakura is an anime Otaku. He first appears in Sket Dance volume 1 and Sket Dance episode 5. His Japanese voice actor is Kozo Dozaka (or Kouzou Douzaka).
