Wow the irony not just that at least Sam an Tom an me have seen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stripperella. But Osamu Tezuka was influanced by Disney an one of his works was heavly ripped off by Disney.

@Marshal Victory: When it comes to America and Japan, the snake is constantly eating its own tail. We go back and forth on inspirations/rip-offs.

@YotaruVegeta: Id agree with that but Disney seems to have ad their hand cought in the cookie jar more often.

"Shortly after the firestorm descended on Disney, the company took the position that it was largely unaware of Japanese Animation in general, and Tezuka in particular. Their animators, it was categorically stated, were not influenced at all during the production of their own King-of-the-Jungle lion film. That entire scenes were lifted from Tezuka "splash" panels were merely coincidence. It was therefore a bit of a reversal when shortly afterward Disney and Studio Ghibli announced that Miyazaki's back catalog of films would be distributed by Disney ... a company that was officially "unaware" of the medium. Strange, to say the least, eh?" http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/animeResources/globalHistory/part1/

Some other instances of disney unaware of but copied from to. http://www.thesecretofbluewater.com/atlantis-i.htm has a intresting break down of Atlantis an Nadia.Personaly i seen no problem with being inspired from something an give some credit .But when its a copied from with no headnods to the sourse its a .. coldplay.. cough . http://pitchfork.com/news/36493-coldplay-settle-joe-satriani-lawsuit/

So you're telling me that Sam Weller is not the god of anime. I have been living a lie my entire life.

@Marshal Victory: @Marshal Victory: I don't get it. Specifically, where did Disney rip off Tezuka?

Post by Marshal Victory (2,407 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@Frieza: Um one link thier shows the plot break down of atlantis an nadia . As well as some other similarities. Plus as pointed out The Lion king was hard copied from Kimba the White Lion

that even the simpsons made fun of it as the anime vice entry points out corectly.looking back on it now i dont think Disney was helping them by disturbtuing the back catalog with Kimba the White Lion .Because so few here know of it out side of anime fans an simpson fans.Maybe a video would help? With most of the similarities cough cough listed.

    more info here to.
