1941- . Born on Hokkaido, Kasai graduated in fine art from the Japan University of Fine Art, becoming an animator at Toei Animation. His first animation work was on Secret Akko-chan, and he went on to work on shows including Cutey Honey and the Dragon Ball spin-off GT.
