Fam Fan Fan and her co-pilot Giselle work as sky pirates, flying their vespa as they help their colleagues harpoon a giant "skyfish" to capture its contents.
 
One day, as they are relaxing at home, the Ades Federation and the Turan Empire are set to sign a peace treaty. However, Ades instead shows up with several battleships. While the king of Turan is sick, the leader of Ades (Luscinia Hafez) plans to capture the two Turan princesses (Liliana and Milia) and kill everyone else. The sky pirates show up to capture one of the ships while the fighting is going on, but end up rescuing the Turan princesses. The mysterious Dio shows up in the cockpit of the Turan flagship and executes a maneuver to make it appear as though the ship self-destructed. 
 
While the enemy considers them dead, Liliana attempts to rally her remaining allies before the Ades ships reach the Turan capital.
