She is the most trusted of Hao's followers and is similar in height to Manta Oyamada.
Opacho is a shaman who is very loyal to Hao Asakura. Although there is not much information on Opacho's origin, it is assumed that Hao finds Opacho as a baby in Africa during his search for allies (Hao's Followers) in his quest to become Shaman King.
Opacho, who is created by Hiro Mashima, has no current information regarding any inspiration used to create her. She first appears in Shaman King volume 9 and episode 25. Her Japanese voice actress is Megumi Hayashibara and Tara Jayne.
Interestingly, Opacho shares the same voice actors with Anna Kyoyama from Shaman King.
Opacho is about the same height as Manta Oyamada. She has a afro like hair and wears a bandana around her head, and like Hao, she wears a robe.
Due to her strong loyalty to Hao, she cares for Hao and will stop at nothing to make Hao happy with her. It is revealed that Opacho dislikes Hao reading her mind. Hao admits he hates his mind reading abilities.
The most important relationship for Opacho is Hao. Interestingly, it is revealed that Opacho always get soy sauce for Hao when Opacho gets soy sauce for Yoh.
Another interesting but minor relationship is with Pirika Usui. During the Back to Tokyo arc, Opacho asks Pirika why she will not watch Horohoro's match. Upon learning Horohoro's past, Opacho is frightened of Horohoro and calls him a wolf.
Note: All information in the Story Arcs are manga only. See anime under "anime and manga differences sections.
Opacho makes her first appearance with Hao and his followers in front of Yoh and his gang at the Patch airlines. Like the members of Hana Gumi, Opacho did not do much until later in the Shaman King first tournament event in Tokyo.
Hao and Opacho and others spectate the shaman fight matches. When it is Hoshi Gumi's turn, Hao, Opacho, and Luchist meet team X-III, Venstar, Meene, and Cebin. Before the match starts, Opacho and Luchist step out of the match since Hao wants to make the match entertaining to the crowd. (Another reason, is that the previous match, Hana Gumi's, is finished too quickly that the crowd is displeased).
As Hao massacres the team, Venstar sacrifices himself with a special grenade that extinguishes the oxygen in the air. Yet, Hao emerges unscathed due to his pentagram's ability to change his spirit to a water element. It is reveal that Opacho's prediction of the Hao's victory has come true.
When the shaman matches come to Yoh's turn, Opacho asks Hao about Yoh's new over soul and spirit medium. Hao explains to Opacho that Yoh did a compound over soul by integrating Amidamaru with Harusame and then integrating that over soul with the new spirit medium, Futsu-no-Mitami-no-Tsurugi. The match ends with Yoh winning it.
Opacho has an ability to see or to predict the future. Her oversoul is a sheep called "Over Soul Mama."
In both the manga and the Japanese version of the anime, Opacho's gender is female, but in the dub, Opacho's gender is changed to a male for unknown reasons.
