Straight from Funimation:

"Due to technical issues, One Piece videos are currently not available. We are working diligently to resolve this issue and hope to be able to bring this great anime series to you very soon. Thank you."

Well, if you didn't hear someone was able to get a hold of the newest One Piece episode from Funimation's server before the episode aired in Japan (subtitles and all).

So of course this has been redistrubuted all over the Internet and I can't image TOEI is pleased by this at all.

Now what we don't really know is if their server was hacked to get the file or (more likely) someone "guessed" the file name and was able to download it from their server with nothing really illegaly done (although other people will try to tell you otherwise). If so Funimation has learned an all important lesson about the Internet! Don't put content you don't want people accessing on a publicly available server! So what have we learned today class?

Anyway's what they could have done was password protect the file and then free it up once the simulcast was to happen. It's completely understandable that they wanted to get this up and ready ASAP so they could just flip a switch and have it available.

Let's just hope that this doesn't hamper their contact to simulcast this series!
