In what is my first report-like blog, I am reporting an update to the upcoming One Piece: Pirate Warriors game that launches in Japan this March for the Playstation 3. Not entirely sure if this will ever see a US release as of now, but at least we can hope. Information below taken from CrunchyRoll (all respective rights reserved).

"The latest info on One Piece: Pirate Warriors ("One Piece Kaizoku Musou") hit the Japanese interwebs on Famitsu today, so we have some new screenshots and details about the story mode.

Story mode is called "Main Log" and features narration by Mahito Ooba (who has also provided other One Piece game narration and played some TV anime roles). There are two types of stages, Adventure and Musou. Adventure stages task you with using Luffy's Gum-Gum Fruit powers to overcome various obstacles, while Musou stages are battle-centric."

As a fan of both One Piece and video games, there is a part of me that hopes that this promising One Piece game does eventually see a release in the United States. It would be a blast to play as various members of the Strawhat Pirates from their adventure and battle against the fearsome Arlong and crew (Arlong Park Arc) to what appears to be the end of the Enies Lobby ordeal (Enies Lobby Arc) in the fights against the powerful CP9.

Even though I'm not a One Piece fan, this game looks great and looks like they have voice over dialogue. One Piece show other animes how anime based games should look like. Nice report, partner!

@takashichea: Amen, brother. Just imagine what the possibilities could be like if Fairy Tail followed One Piece's example shown in the game above and made a awesome game of their own that would make both gamers and fans of the Fairy Tail franchise proud. I can already imagine it...(pictures Erza, Lucy, and Natsu taking down their foes in spectacular 3D-game fashion) xD

I'm interested and having been following it oven on Siliconera, however until I know it's coming to North America, I can't get too excited. Looks great, though.

Here's hoping it'll end up being the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 of the One Piece genre. I.e., a perfect adaptation of the manga that very nearly outclasses the anime.

Not as big a fan of One Piece as I used to be, but I easily spent over 100 hours on the two Unlimited Cruise games for the wii. Since its for the PS3 even if it's never released outside Japan it can be easily imported, which is probably what I'll end up doing.
Thanks for some new info and pictures!

@PenguinDust: @JonSmith: @Petiew: @Destinyheroknight: @The_Desert_Tiger: I am glad to see that others are interested in this game.

Here is the most recent trailer for the upcoming game and the original one:

(EDIT: It appears that the games starts with the original meeting with Captain Buggy and crew and goes until at least past the Thriller Bark Saga, judging my the footage in the two trailers below.)

@ShadowKnight508: Oh, dear... It appears instead of being the NS: UNS2 of One Piece, it's going to be the Bleach: Soul Resurreccion of One Piece... That's not good... Still willing to give it a shot since it's One Piece though.

@ShadowKnight508: From what i heard it seems like the game goes until the beginning of the New World Arc.

@The_Desert_Tiger: Thank you for pointing that out. I am still in the Thriller Bark Saga in One Piece at the moment, so I do not know about stuff from later on down the series in upcoming arcs/sagas. I have my fingers crossed that this interesting OP game can achieve what it sets out to do.
