It's no secret that One Piece has been an exceptional manga series run up to date. In Japan, the 2008 elected "most interesting manga's" publisher, Shueisha, will be breaking another publishing record.
Eiichiro Oda's pirate manga originally held the record of printing the most Shueisha manga copies with 3.4 million copies of One Piece's volume 60 in it's first printing. Selling 2,094,123 copies in it's first four days of sales last November, and on January 30, 2,803,817 copies were sold. Now, Shueisha has broken it's own record by printing 3.8 million copies of One Piece volume 61 this last Friday.
Of course, One Piece has not beaten the larger scale Shueisha's franchise, Dragon Ball. It sold 350 million copies worldwide from different publishers, but not to worry, Once Piece is not all that behind, which has sold over 200 million copies.
