I picked a great week for not contributing anything.
" And with this comment the Anime Vice Spotlight is officially more sucessful than my Giant Bomb Spotlight! Good work guys! "
But really, these comments and related discussions on our sister sites aren't doing the community any favors. I daresay the discussion in the comments for this Spotlight is almost as bad as the controversy the media started against the video game industry at large - particularly towards the Japanese side of it (now Tokyo's government is trying to censor these things at will) - after they found out about RapeLay.
Have people never seen anything risqué in their everyday lives? Were these reactions just prompted for the fact that the risqué artwork of the image was in the style of anime and featuring characters from a recently aired, largely hyped anime series?
People really shouldn't be commenting here at all unless they have something to say about the actual content this community generates, hence the purpose of the Spotlight. Anyway, who had the genius idea to associate the community with an image and call it "zero effort" rather than look at actual wiki contributions and blogs people spent so much time on? I'm not one for strict moderation, but that one GB thread is so ridiculous I'm not sure why it still exists.
Now on the topic of the actual substance users have brought to this community, it's especially nice to see continuity in blogs as of late. For example I especially appreciate JJOR64's mini reviews for anime series and sickVisionz's monthly purchases blogs - there's usually a lot of insight to be found in blogs like that.
