Plot Summary

From afar, Ultear and Meldy observe the games. Mavis goes over the rules for the tournament. (see points of interest).

Gray's team cheers on Gray, and Chapati asks Yajima about any mage whom they should pay attention to. Yajima replies that Rufus is the crowd's favorite, but he will observe Gray. In Jenny's case, she is betting on Eve. On the battlefield, Juvia tells Gray that she will not lose, and Gray insists on her giving him everything she got. Lyon tells Juvia to do the same to him. Gray asks the Pumpkin Head Announcer about his identity. Eve and Beth give the announcer a good job. Nullpudding remarks that the Fairy Tail have an advantage in the competition, and Rufus says that they don't have a clear advantage while the others don't mind. The announcer opens the field, and everyone is mesmerized at the city being created in front of their eyes. The participants are immersed in their surroundings, and some are baffled at the game, Hidden. Using the Lacrima Vision, the audience can see the combatants, and the announcer goes over the rules. Gray and the others are surrounded by clones of the combatants. With the game beginning, Juvia accidentally hugs a Gray copy and gets a point deduction. Juvia's team is a bit annoyed at Juvia's blunder, but Mirajane smiles and notes that Juvia is at a disadvantage at the fact. Everyone has thirty minutes to get the most points, and Nalpudding finds Gray. After he introduces himself to Gray, Gray attacks him only find out that he attacked a clone in front of the real Nalpudding. Gray gets relocated, and he starts to blend in with his surroundings. Natsu's team makes some comments, and Gray gets attacked by Nalpudding from behind.

Outside of the Hidden game, Yajima make some comments on strategy, and Jenny remarks that Eve has an ace up his sleeve. Lucy looks at Corona who gives Lucy the look. At Gray's location, Beth emerges from the ground with Carrot Missiles at Gray only to miss. Then, Yeager attacks Beth, and immediately, Lyon attacks Yeager from behind. From high above, Juvia drop kick Lyon who was preoccupied from staring at Juvia's panty. She explains to Gray that Makarov promised them that they get the other team to do whatever they want. When Gray and Juvia are preoccupied, Nalpudding attacks both of them. As it snows on the ground, Eve can find his enemies whose breath becomes visible in the air since copies cannot breathe. Even immediately attacks Beth, Yeager, and Nalpudding and scores three points. Lyon launches icicle attacks at Eve, and Nalpudding continues to hunt down Gray.

High above the city, Rufus makes his appearance, and he initiates his Memory Make magic that darkens the sky and makes everyone glow in the dark. Rufus unleashes a devastating attack, Night of the Falling Stars, which strikes everyone except Nalpudding. Nalpudding charges at Rufus whose body disappears. Rufus explains that Nalpudding attacked a memory of him, and he blasts Nalpudding. He tells everyone that this game is boring and that he not need to hide. Gray tries to attack Rufus only to get a Nalpudding's kick to the head. The game is over, and the results are revealed. The audience booed and jeered at Fairy Tail, and Natsu yells back. Gray apologizes to his group; he smashes the wall and swears he will get Raven Tail. Chapati announces the first battle match up: Lucy Heartphilia vs Flare Corona.
