A character from the Mightiest Disciple series who believes that killing is an integral part of martial arts. Ryuto Asamiya's master. Ogata took a liking into Kenichi Shirahama and wanted him to become his disciple, but Kenichi refused as he wanted to protect not kill which Ogata understood.
Ogata was the first disciple that Akisame Koetsuji and Kensei Ma accepted despite the elder saying that he saw a sinister look in his eyes. According to Akisame, Ogata was desperate to become a Dou type martial artist. After some time Ogata was expelled from the Dojo, but not before learning some of the elder techniques. Ogata started to have death matches in order to "restore" the martial arts into its former glory according to his believes. It was during that time he save the young Natsu Tanimoto and Ryuto, after years from saving Natsu, after one of this death matches he came across Ryuto who asked to be his disciple. For years Ogata trained Ryuto and had him form Ragnarok. After fighting and killing Tanaka father-in-law along his wife and unborn child, Ogata was shocked that he killed a life that didn't chose it's way in life. After that Ogata exiled himself into the dark valley and spent his time making status of Buddha to atone. Ogata stayed there trying to atone until the day he found Kenichi in the dark valley alone and unconscious.
Ogata find Kenichi alone, unconscious, take him to his hut and nurse him back to health. Ogats, not knowing that he is the disciple of his former masters, offer to let Kenichi stay with him until his master find his way to them which Kenichi happily agreed to and stated that Ogata is twenty time better than the elder which Ogata found it to be flattering. Kenichi, out of gratitude, helped Ogata in cutting the wood for the fire while talking to him about what happened to him with Ryuto who took his Yin Yang badge. When there was no wood to be cut Kenichi asked for something else to do, but Ogata didn't want to have his guest do his work. However, Kenichi stated that he needed to do something as he is not allowed to practice martial arts for a week and he must do something in this week so he doesn't lose his mind. Ogata thrn asked for some water from the river and after seeing Kenichi run wildly he wondered who was his master.
