Nurse Joy is one of many identical nurses positioned in Every town and village in the Pokemon series, and are trained to treat Pokemon injuries.
Overview
Like Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy appears in every city and village of the Pokemon world, she gives a Pokemon to the Trainers in cities in which there are No Trainers. Her first appearance in the TV show was Labeled "The Pokemon emergency".

Nurse Joy, like Officer Jenny, also comes from a family of Identical looking members, each of which are set up in different towns and cities. their specialty is in treating Pokemon injuries sustained from battle, In Pokemon Centers, which operate similarly to hospitals. It is however noted, that Joy is the family name, and each nurse have individual names.

Nurse Joys also serve the same role as the Professors throughout the regions, distributing Starter Pokemon to new trainers in each town where a professor is absent.
