Nurse Joy

Overview

Like Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy appears in every city and village of the Pokémon world. A Nurse Joy first appearance in the Pokémon episode "The Pokémon emergency".

Unova Nurse Joy family

Nurse Joy, like Officer Jenny, also comes from a family of Identical looking members, each of which are set up in different towns and cities. their specialty is in treating Pokémon injuries sustained from battle, In Pokémon Centers, which operate similarly to hospitals. It is however noted, that Joy is the family name, and each nurse have individual names.

A Nurse Joy from the PIA

Some Nurse Joy's also are part Pokémon Inspection Agency where they inspect and see if a gym and it's leader are capable of maintaining Gym leader standards, or be forced to shut down for being unsafe and unclean.

Nurse Joys also serve the same role as the Professors throughout the regions, distributing Starter Pokémon to new trainers in each town where a professor is absent.

Chanseys working as Pokemon Center Aides

Nurse Joys often have Pokémon working as aides in Pokémon Centers. In Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh, they have Chansey and Blissey for assistance, and in Unova, they are helped by Tabunne.
