Okay, that's not the real news here. The REAL news is that a trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of music manga Nodame Cantabile-- another continuation of the popular live-action TV drama series --is now available online. To clarify, this is actually the first part of a two-part movie; part one is coming out on December 19th and part two in spring 2010.
But for the first time, I really noticed that the actress playing the titular Nodame, one Juri Ueno, really sounds a lot like the seiyuu who plays the same character in the anime version of the manga, Ayako Kawasumi. Obviously I don't just mean in terms of what they say (all that "mukyaa!" stuff was in the original manga, so of course it'd be the same), but the resulting voices sound very similar in their...is timbre the right word? I thought that was interesting. I wonder if one actress influenced the other, or if it's simply the natural result of two people playing the same character-- particularly one with such specific idiosyncracies as Nodame?
