Word from anime!anime! is that Nippon Animation, the company behind a wide variety of anime adaptations based on classic literature aimed at kids (among other shows), has posted the first episode of a whopping 27 of its shows on YouTube. The shows are in their original Japanese sans subtitles (this is aimed at Japanese viewers, not us). It is watchable in the US, however (and I'm hoping those of you in other countries will report back on whether you were able to watch too), so why not give it a shot? Especially those of you studying Japanese-- kids' shows are a great way to practice listening skills.

A very partial list of the shows:
  • The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
  • The Adventures of Maya the Honey Bee
  • Angie Girl
  • Anne of Green Gables (pictured above)
  • Dog of Flanders
  • Dokaben
  • Ikkyuu-san
  • A Little Princess Sara
  • Little Women
  • Nankoku Shounen Papuwa-kun
  • Inocchio Yori Piccolino no Bouken
  • Rascal the Raccoon
  • Romeo's Blue Skies
  • Tico of the Seven Seas
  • The Von Trapp Family Story

...It's a lot of shows. Check 'em all out here!

I can confirm there's no geo-tarding/restrictions for viewers here in the UK. Not sure about the uploads so far - but I support the trend!

Yeah, I can also confirm that there is no restrictions for viewers here in Brazil. Awesome selection of animations by the way, too bad I don't know anything of japanese, although I'm a japanese descendant. Yeah, I know, shame on me. XD
