Points of Interest

• This is the first episode of the Naruto anime series to ever be produced and aired in HD and widescreen format.
• This episode is a mixture of both canon events from the manga and anime filler content.
• The kanji on the temple entrance is 火ノ寺 (hi no tera), which means "Fire Temple".
• Naruto's usual clock is missing form his nightstand when he wakes from the nightmare.
• This is the first episode that shows Sakura in her post-time skips clothes that she wears when not on missions. It's a black skirt with a top similar to her mission short but with sleeves.
• In Japanese culture, it can be considered very rude to address people without honorifics without permission.
• Kakashi says that he heard everything from Yamato, but in the previous episode he heard all the events from Jiriaya.
• Shikamaru says the Chunin Exams are over. Though the previous exams that were shown in the first part of the story took several weeks and were a huge event that drew together many of the other shinobi nations.
• The meeting if Asuma and Kakashi in his hospital room was changed from the original manga.
• This episode is one of the rare appearances of the Inner Sakura. This was not seen in the manga.

• In the omake after the credits, an argument starts up and the barbeque eatery where insulting nicknames start up and Ino accidentally uses the "taboo" word on Choji.
• Sai has a bandage on his left cheek in the omake that wasn't present before.
