I got a copy of
Bandai Entertainment's June mailer, and there's an interesting new release coming up! That is, of course, the
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam movies-- movie I: Heirs to the Stars, II: Lovers, and III: Love is the Pulse of the Stars. They'll be available individually (SRP $24.98 each), or you can buy them as a full collection for $64.98. At the moment, they're scheduled for June 22nd. These will be sub-only releases.
Here, have a trailer (and yes, that is Gackt's theme song):
Additionally, the second volume of
Kurokami-- on DVD with subs and on Blu-Ray as a dub-only release, as you may remember --has been pushed back to June 8th.
But back to the Gundam thing. I don't know much about these movies, but I kinda dug the trailer. Who's planning to buy?
@cfatalis: Yep, when Tomino got happy, made a happier ending, and took out one of my favorite Char scenes.
I was referring specifically to the recent online streaming Bandai is doing to promo it's release of the Gundam Unicorn Blu Ray. The only version of Zeta I have seen them offer for streaming online has been the subbed only version, unless there was a site that did have the dubbed option and I just missed it. However, yes, you are right the original show did have dub work done. Now that I think about it some of those original voice actors may no longer be available as well so that may play a part too. Of course most of the time companies don't hesitate to change with the times *shrug*
I just wish the zeta tv series had been able to keep its openings and closings. I may invest in these as I have been crazy for UC gundam series since Mobile Suit Gundam was released on crunchyroll, now if only we could get a sub only ZZ,Victory, X or Turn A Gundam that would be great.(afterall I know more about alot of them from the video games........-_-;;;
