xxxHOLiC Continues in OAD Form

SaiAni reports that the anime adaptation of CLAMP's supernatural tale xxxHOLiC , about a guy who indebts himself to a witch named Yuuko in hopes of getting rid of his pesky ability to see and attract ghosts, is going to continue in the form of an OAD. I'm guessing that the news came in volume 15 of the manga, which was just released in japan today.

Not unlike sister series the earlier OAD release xxxHOLiC Shunmuki that was released with the 14th volume in February, it looks like xxxHOLiC's will be released as part of a package with the 16th volume of the manga. No word yet on the title or what kind of story it'll be, but I'm sure it'll be excellent animation and a fun watch, whether it's Serious Plot Business or more of a fun filler.

(For those who aren't yet up on Japan's recent shift in lingo, an “OAD” is the same thing as an “OVA,” a direct-to-DVD (or in some cases direct-to-Internet) release, as opposed to a TV broadcast or theatrical release.)

Oh yeahhh...OAD. Kind of like what Dogs: Bullets & Carnage was.

I'm definitely looking forward to this. ^^

xxxHolic being one of my fav. series I think I'm going to enjoy this.

Also OAD dose not sound as good as OVA but whatever.

why I am intiruged by this news I agree with someone on ANN why not just finish off the OADs  with 2 theatrical or oad movies for xxxHolic and Tsubasa

OAD just doesn't roll out of the tongue as well as OVA. At least in the term OVA you can say the letters consecutively like a word. If you say OAD outl oud, it sounds like the word "ode" :[

Am I excited for this? Yup. More love for xxxHOLIC <3 I don't care if it's filler.

Dig Deeper into xxxHOLiC

Watanuki Kimihiro was born with the ability to see spirits, as a result the 'ayakashi' (bad spirits) always go and bug him, causing him a lot of grief that ordinary people cannot see. Upon encountering an unsual shop, the shop owner Ichihara Yuko claims that she can help him, for a price that equates to her help.
