WTF is Whack-a-Catgirl?

I have never heard of this game before.

While I was browsing through Otakon's partial schedule, my eyes flickered by an event called “Live-Action Whack-a-Catgirl.” I didn't think about it too much at the time; all sorts of weird shit goes down at conventions (I heard a veeery interesting conversation recently about sex parties at cons. Man, I never get invited to that kind of thing! Not entirely sure I'd WANT to...)

Anyway, so, live-action Whack-a-Catgirl. Sounded kinda weird. Maybe a little violent. Possibly even misogynistic, or at least cat-hating. But, you know, as long as everyone involved is consenting, whatever.

Then John spotted this item on BoardGameGeek and I realized...oh! It's a game! A card game, to be precise, from Asmadi Games, who you may know for such delights as “Win, Lose, or Banana” and “We Didn't Playtest This at All.” It's a 2-5 player game in which you basically try to beat up a catgirl by throwing things at her, like plushies, water, other fangirls...you can use item cards as something to throw at her or to lure her closer to hit her better.

This sounds kind of awesome. Unfortunately, the live-action Whack-a-Catgirl panel starts in the middle of the Bandai Entertainment panel, so I don't know if the beatings will be done by the time I get there...but I'll try and get in some time with Asmadi to talk more about the game.

In the meantime, have any of you guys PLAYED this? It actually came out in 2007 and I have never heard of it before in my life, but I want it. I want it so bad. Cat-hating and all.

I first saw it when a copy got donated to our charity auction.  Sadly, it is new/sealed so I can't poke through it.

I`ve seen this about a year ago (in Terebi magazine i think) but i ignored it cuz i hate it when Japan releases cool card games that almost never leave the border (Shinrabansho Chocolate, Ranger Stike, this^, ect)

But now its in English? that gives me hope XD

@Kelleth: I think you're thinking of a different game-- this one was designed by a guy named Chris Cieslik at Asmadi Games, at least as far as I understand it.

@ganchan: We are thinking of them, then we are whacking them.

Last year, Asmadi had a table set up where they would let people demo the games before buying them.  I'll definitley be buying this game along with some others...since I LOVE any form of board/card game.  If you can't get to the panel, try their booth in the dealer room.  I'll try to get to the panel if there isn't something else scheduled over it.
