Weekly Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach Manga Discussion

Summery: Naruto finally meets up with his fellow jinchuuriki on the island of giant beasts. This is Killer Bee’s home away from home, since he uses this island as training grounds. Here he has made friends with all the beasts, which in turn gave him the ability to master his own eight-tailed monster inside. Naruto asks him for training, but Killer Bee refuses since he’s on vacation.

However, Naruto wins him over by dropping fat rhymes all over his business. This however does not last long because Naruto does not greet Killer Bee correctly by pounding his fist. He slams the door on Naruto, even after a quick show from Naruto’s sexy jitsu. Naruto returns to their guide Motoi, and asks him for training. After a brief discussion he agrees, and takes Naruto to the place where Killer Bee’s trained. However, they do not go to the training site yet, since Naruto must face the Falls of Truth first. Here he meets a foul mouthed evil Naruto.

Prediction: It’s time for Naruto to face his inner demons, which will either be conquered by boring dialogue, or some kind of over-the-top battle (I’m hoping for a battle). Of course Killer Bee is going to show up later to help Naruto, but probably only after he passes this stage of his training first.

Final Thoughts: This is a slower chapter for a change of pace, which isn’t bad. It reminds me of old Naruto, a time when he wasn’t constantly mulling over Sasuke.

Summery: Welcome back One Piece! Luffy is now on Amazon Lily with both Law and Jimbei, though Ivan has returned back to the gay kingdom with his subjects. After a two week slumber, Luffy has finally awakened, but he is in shambles. He remembers vividly the gory details of Ace’s death and prays it is just a dream. As he remembers, he attempts to beat these memories out of him, like any other obstacle Luffy has faced throughout his life.

Jimbei cannot take any more of this and finds Luffy. He confirms Luffy’s worst fear, that his brother is dead. With that Luffy tears himself down in an eruption of tears. Stuck within this world of sadness, Luffy remembers back to his childhood, back to when he first met his brother.

Garp, being a badass marine does not give him enough time to raise either boy. Luffy has become weak, and he needs him to shape up or ship out. The best way to solve both of these problems is to bring him to a group of criminals known as the Dadan family, who will raise him and watch over him. Ace is already there, though he isn’t pleased in seeing this newcomer invade his territory.

Prediction: It looks like we are going to spend some time in this flashback. Most can range somewhere between two to three chapters, though some have been longer. Next chapter is going to revolve around the beginning stages of Luffy and Ace’s relationship, though I’m not expecting it to be a pleasant one at this stage.

Final Thoughts: I wasn’t expecting this, though at the same time I was expecting some kind of Luffy and Ace flashback during the actual war. Why does he have to give Ace a flashback when he is already dead? Stop playing with my emotions like that Oda! I hope Piccolo trains Luffy.

Also, when Jimbei first found Luffy, after his rampage, Luffy was drawn with the same type of pupils that Oda usually gives villains; this is a window to how violent Luffy’s thoughts were at the time.

Summery: It is time for another lengthy speech from Aizen. The hougyoku finally has awakened, and has shown it’s “will”. Aizen goes on to explain that the hougyoku’s true ability is to materialize the hearts of everything around it. Which is the reason why Chad and Inoue have their powers, why Rukia lost her powers when Ichigo took them, why the Vaizards were created, and why Ruikia first found Ichigo. Basically, it is the power of god (Kubo).

Though Isshin has no idea what Aizen is talking about, and most likely, the readers as well. His speech is interrupted by Ichigo and Gin’s battle, which is still at a standstill. Aizen was almost ready to transform, or take on the hougyoku’s power when suddenly he was shot through the chest by no other than Urahara Kisuke!

Prediction: I’m expecting another lengthy speech from Aizen, or perhaps Urahara concerning they hougyoku. Though after that Urahara is going to give that bad boy a spanking, but will soon get his ass kicked after that.

Final Thoughts: I feel the same way as Isshin does, just lost and confused. So does that mean I can just wish away Aizen using the houyoku? Probably not, it’s never that easy.
