Naruto and crew are back in action with chapter 494. Like promised last time, we are thrown headfirst into a flashback, explaining the origins of the Eight Tails. Will
Naruto be able to overcome his evil self, let’s take a look.
The Good

*Bro fist*
I think all of us breathed a sigh of relief once we discovered that the flashback they hyped in the last chapter only took up a half of one. Great news, for I didn’t really care about Motoi’s backstory anyways. This entire chapter is really about Motoi and Killer Bee’s relationship throughout the years. To no surprise this story mirrors Naruto and
Sasuke’s relationship to a certain degree, yet I highly doubt Naruto will save Sasuke from a giant squid; though perhaps he might save him from a rampaging
Nine Tails, but we will see.
Much like Naruto, Killer Bee has been tormented throughout his entire life because of the monster stuck within him, yet Naruto who had the same problem has a deep sense of hatred he has to work out. I’m sure the next chapter will focus more on why he has this within him.
The Bad

Someone help Goku!
Basically this entire chapter is based on the relationship between Motoi and Killer Bee, but what I want to know is why is this important? We already know Killer Bee had a rough past, and that he can fully control his Eight Tails, so why should I care if Motoi and Killer Bee are now cool with each other; it didn’t make Killer Bee any stronger. It also doesn’t appear to help Naruto, since he is still stuck with an evil dude crawling inside of him. I do not really see how this progresses the storyline, other than Naruto noticing Killer Bee’s compassion toward his one time enemy.
The Verdict 2/5
With this friendship in full bloom, it will be time to move onto more important things, like Naruto taking control of the Nine Tails.
But he never had a hard life, because he never let any of that get to him.
if kishi killed killerbee just to make the plot goes
i will say good bye to following naruto and just read wiki entries
Otherwise you would have two ninjas fighting just for the heck of it... Where's the fun in that?
I hate fillers arc.
That said the chapter is fine. It is telling some semi important backstory to give you an idea about the type of person Motoi and Bee are and maybe providing naruto with a crucial hint as to what he may need to beat his own inner emo. Considering you didn't have to pay one penny for it and it took maybe 5-10 minutes to read your rating is maybe a bit harsh? This isn't like I am buying a Superman filler comic for 5 bucks and half the pages are advertisements. In fact, why are we rating the chapters at all?
