Holy crap! I knew that FMA’s plot was going to continue somewhere. Many of you lunatics doubted the conjecture I put forward in my video on the last episode of BROTHERHOOD. What have you to say, now? These goons, with their Ouroboros tattoos, are clearly meant to be servants of the same Homunculi who so bedeviled the brothers Elric. The conspiracy isn’t limited to Amestris!
It’s a fun thought to entertain at least. I suppose I was lulled into expecting that every episode in this series was going to be a told-in-one with only a loose arc connecting them together. However, the plot’s finally thickening as we see this clandestine cabal using some significant overkill to bump off anybody who may have witnessed their failed attempt to the bomb that building a couple episodes back. None of these Hero TV people seemed to be actively looking for the guy in the bogus uniform. It didn’t even seem like they were even thinking about anymore. It was just another day on the job. It’d seem like it’d be just as easy to do another assassination attempt, so maybe Tiger’s deduction wasn’t quite right? Maybe this is just the bad guys’ trying again?
I haven’t really decided if Fire Emblem’s a mildly offensive stereotype or not. There’s more to his personality than his sexuality, certainly, but there’s such an easy joke in making the flamboyantly gay member of the team have flaming powers that I can’t believe the creators didn't intend it. I’ll leave it to the more reasonable sensibilities of this community to decide.
There are plenty of entirely valid comparisons to be made between superheroics and pro-wrestling, but this is one of the few that integrates more of the behind-the-scenes, “kayfabe” side of wrestling into the equation. Specifically, I love how Tiger has to work like a jobber (a wrestler contracted to lose and take the nastier chair shots to the head.) They need some to get scorched and Bunny’s too pretty and busy, so who’s their huckleberry?
The guy who's lower on the card, of course.
