Watch & Learn: TIGER & BUNNY #24

One lead character may die... and all bets are off!!!

Anybody else getting flashbacks of VIRTUAL ON, here?
Anybody else getting flashbacks of VIRTUAL ON, here?

Oh no! Not Kotetsu!

See, this is what I like about finite shows. There are no guarantees! Tiger might be one OF the titular characters -- he might crucial to the very identity of this whole thing - - but since there are only two episodes left, I really can’t be sure about how this death scene’s going to play out. This could really be it! Will his 100 Power return to revive him at the last minute? Will this be the spark to finally stoke the flame of Barnaby’s vengeance into a towering blaze that will consume Maverick for all the terrible things he’s done? Or will Lunatic be the one to give that son of a bitch what’s coming to him? Once again, I’m going to have to rush into watching the next episode immediately, and that’s a desire borne from a pure viewing experience that I rarely get to have in these trailer and spoiler-saturated times. I love it.

In spite of all my questions without current answers, one thing is for certain. If the previous episodes haven’t inspired a throng of yaoi fan art, then this episode’s going to break the dams of fangirls’ imaginations open and let the prurient waters of creativity flow forth like so many tears out of Barnaby and Tiger’s eyes. I already see a few of such… interpretations of their relationship when I leave the content filter off during a search for images to promo these write-ups, and I’m sure they’re going to significantly increase in frequency from here on out.

On another funny note, I was just terribly amused by how every member of HERO TV got screen time for their particular style of “anime gasp” as they reacted to Dr. Rotwang's progressively-more-dastardly revelations. There was even one moment where they all gasped, individually, in a sequence that almost sounded musical. It was like a xylophone of human surprise. Hell, whoever makes those Vocaloids ought to sample those gasps and assign them to the keys of a synthesizer. It'd make one killer beat for MikuMiku's next single.

Watch these episodes "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained" below, decide for yourself and then read my comments on the previous episode here.

There only one episode left BTW

Also yaoi fan-art has been around since the series started, it just only appeared in Japan first.

Here one from carmine 15 from Pixiv

The bit about the eyelashes was a poke at the bromance people. If not it just was funny in it self.

It should me mentioned that in Japan, Tiger and Bunny was especially popular with female viewers because of the bromance nature of Kotetsu and Barnaby's relationship. No surprise that Sunrise would pander to them a little.

I've been reading through these 'watch and learn's' with great interest as I myself have been watching the show around the same time line as you. I've really enjoyed the series and would probably go as far as saying it's the most interesting new anime to come out so far in 2011.

Yaoi art has, sadly, existed since this show started, Tom. Luckily you missed most of it.

Yup but i think the" to close buddy" coment an your eyelashes are realy long was a jab at those people.I mean Tigers got a kid.. do the people who do this type of artwork etc just ignore that?Do they ignore the whole archs with him rembering his wife ?

Ture love is blind. But i think some peoples fantasies are blind deaf an dumb.
