If this column has any liminal phases, then the Sun’s set and the Moon’s hanging in the sky, because it’s sampling time again. That is to say, I’ll be watching the pilot episodes of ever potential and suggested series in that latest thread and then, once I’m through with all of them, I’ll either let the next show be decided by an actual poll or just pick one according to my own tastes.
Anyway, I was pretty set on at least trying SACRED SEVEN since one of you lunatics mentioned that this was the series Sunrise pumped all its cash into for this season - - not TIGER AND BUNNY. I found that prospect intriguing because at no point did T&B ever look like it was being made on the cheap, so I could only imagine what the studio’s “A Project” had to look like. SACRED SEVEN does, indeed, seem to boast more full-animation than T&B, though I’d say that the other improvements only come in slight increments. Hell, I think it’s funny that this is even differentiated from T&B since, despite the mecha, it’s literally just a notch away from being a superhero show.
And, you know, it’s too bad that I’ve watched enough of these shows now that I’m not actually impressed by this thing. Here’s an anime with eye-popping animation, a parade of colorful concepts and characters and adequately-engaging storyline, yet I’m still rather blasé about it. My first thought when I saw the Medusa Monster was, “That monster again? Couldn’t they have dug a little deeper?” instead of appreciating how hyper-detailed and fluidly kinetic it looked in motion.
Objectively, while the story was engaging, moment for moment, I’m having a hard time describing what the hell happened in this episode because the plot was presented in so disjointed a fashion that it practically slides off your brain as soon as the credits roll. All I remember was that the main character had some bitchin’, anger-fueled fire and tentacle-wrap powers, and that it was funny to see that a maid café finally got armed. I could continue this easily but, shrug of shrugs, I’m not especially motivated to go one way or another.
Watch this episodes "Awakening of the Stone” below, decide for yourself.

This is a cool series, it didnt had as much publicity as T&B but is a nice serie, and I loved the character designs
If you keep watching Tom, you'll be greatly disappointed with how this show pans out. It has it moments but it not going to end well.
This video is the only thing you need to know about Sacred Seven.
the animation was indeed top notch but there is something wrong with the pacing if that is the correct term to use here.
Yea I started watching this and lost interest around ep 7 or so. Pacing is off for sure.
I really liked this. Haven't seen it all though...

Well I'm into it NOW.
Just finished first EP. Looks are cool, Music feels right. Back in high school and skirts are about, which doesn't make me all that happy. cliched. I will see how it goes though.
The beginning is a bit odd- a lot of not so memorable imagery in a set up that feels like its trying for something more than those images can handle. In the context of this particular article- I catch the drift of being immune in some of the "tense" moments.
Hard to predict the moments that will actually hit- and then they do.
Overall- I liked it- but it played with my interest/emotions in a way that seems to have not any real rhyme or reason to it.
Watched the whole season of this. Its not bad but the pilot was off.Err Tom Tiger & Bunny had mechs in it to. sme piloted by people some by stuffed animals. Heck id say you could have this show as a super hero.As his alter form (one not with the girls help) looks like something from http://www.comicvine.com/spawn/49-4937/
an oddly enuff looks better imho than the one the gril helps him to have.
Could be a good example of computer animation but um im glad my glasses are tinted. It can get flashy on color. Also main character is meh . Other than that its a intresting series.Think they spent the money on animation cause it sure wasnt in the writing.
This looks awesome. I wish there were more episodes of Tiger and Bunny. I was really interested in that show but this is good too.
look to generic for my tastes.
@Bocam: GG are my heroes for that.
@Bocam: That was matched up a bit to good.Good find tho.
I am about to start watching this show soon. Hope it's good.
Finished it yesterday. Nice series, not anything great but nice enough to pass the time.
