Wait, There Really Might Be New Haruhi? REALLY Really?

Hope springs eternal...

Neener Neener, Says Haruhi
Neener Neener, Says Haruhi
I'm almost scared to type this in case it turns out not to be true...we've had so much false hope over the last couple of years!

But the word on the Japanese grapevine (i.e. Moon Phase) is that the rumor about there being new The Melancholy Haruhi Suzumiya in the upcoming 're'broadcast of the series seems to have turned out true-- because while the original series was 14 episodes, the rebroadcast is apparently set to have 28.

This news comes from the TV station Teletama, which is airing the rebroadcast, although the network offered that it doesn't know the content of the entire run, only that it's 28 episodes long. Now, I guess Kadokawa COULD be airing the show twice in a row. It doesn't really make any sense, but it's Kadokawa, so we have to leave that possibility out in the open. Especially since it's unusual for Kyoto Animation to have two shows running concurrently, and K-On! is starting up. But still...

Damn you, Kadokawa. You've given me hope again. If you tear my heart out and stomp on it by not offering me any new Haruhi, I will never forgive you (even if technically this news came to Moon Phase via a magazine that did the digging and not your PR department...probably).

You mean you're STILL willing to forgive them as it is? Even after all the crap they've done up till now?? Man... you Haruhi fans are like domestic violence victims.

I don't trust Kadokawa at all so I won't hope till I see the episode pictures.

I refuse to keep my hopes up for this i`m gonna ignore every news about Haruhi 2 unless i get to see the first episode in its whole  on the net :P

Oof, you guys are harsh! Not that Kadokawa doesn't deserve it. I still have my fingers crossed, though.

I don't trust Kadokawa. To be honest, all this playing around isn't necessary. The first season's out-of-order episodes were neat; I was new to Haruhi at the time and found it genuinely interesting. Now, though? I know what's going to happen. I don't care about all this crap. I just want to see the novels animated. I don't want to hear from them unless it's an announcement that they're airing season 2. Until then, screw them.

Sigue: At this point, I personally believe that there was actually some kind of behind-the-scenes problem that prevented the project from moving forward, more than that the whole mess has been completely intentional.

Haruhi has pulled on all of her worshippers' hearts quite a bit. Those that have the strength to hope, all the power to them!

I for one just want the next light novel. I mean yeah I'd be EXTREMELY happy if it's a second season airing with the re-airing of the first but I just want the light novel. The cliffhanger is killlling me.

If there won't  be a second season... well screw Kadokawa. They all can die in a fire. They are on everyone's nerves except the few who still cling on that hope of the second season for dear life.
