The time has come for all to cast their votes for Anime Vice's Top of 2012. The voting starts now and will end at 11:59pm, January 7th with the final results published later that week.
The method this year is a two-part process that's a little different than last year's...
(1) Look through the 2012 Anime List
The votes are tallied automatically by the names filled in on the voting form, so it's critically important that you fill in the voting blanks with the exact text written in the list.
For example, FUTURE DIARY MIRAI NIKKI is written on the form as "Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)" in the spreadsheet. A vote for "Future Diary" or "Mirai Nikki" will count as votes for two separate series, neither of which is actually the entry on the list!
There were titles last year that would have had their rank altered by a single vote so be sure that yours is counted correctly! If you are having problems locating your series, the list is searchable (press Ctrl/Cmd+F). Try searching for part of the title to see if it appears.
(2) Fill Out the Voting Form
The voting form is pretty self-explanatory. Copy (Ctrl/Cmd+C) the title from the master list and paste (Ctrl/Cmd+V) it into the appropriate voting field which are ranked first through fifth.
And as if you needed any more incentive to participate... Tom and Sam are going to cover the results in a special episode of the Vice Pit next year! That's right! Every vote counts!

Just punched in my votes. Doubt that they will win, but it's fun to vote, eh? :)
argh tried to copy the ones i picked an it wouldnt go. to many this year would have tied for 4 or 5th place .
1st Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine
2nd Psycho-Pass an it by a hair its not 1st.
3rd Jormungand
4th Binbogami ga!
5th Sword Art Online
so many good anime could easly be 4th or 5th.
Voted!
I didn't get to watch a lot of anime that had been released this year so I did my best. :)
Just dropping another reminder that if you want your vote counted correctly, youMUSTtype the names as they are listed in the list. I've fixed the ones that I noticed while browsing through but you don't want your vote to slip through the cracks.
You don't want to view the final results and see that My Little Sister Does Something Embarrassing... Harem Hijinks! But I Love Her Anyways lose by a handful of votes only to see that there are scattered entries at the very bottom for My Little Sister Does Something Embarrassing... Harem Hijinks! But I Love Her Anyways Season 2,My Little Sister Does Something Embarrassing... Harem Hijinks! But I Love Her Anyways 2, and My Little Sister Does Something Embarrassing... Harem Hijinks! But I Love Her Anyways S2.
@sickVisionz:the joke is that the animes with Onii-chan or Imouto in the title are winning, because they clearly aren't...right?
@DocHaus: I thought it was funny, I didn't want to use an actual series, and I thought using an older series might confuse people into thinking this was a vote for any anime you like regardless of year contest (someone has so it's not too farfetched). There's no deeper meaning to it.
The only hint I'll give is that the #1 ranked series isn't one of those too big for Twitter titled series.
NOTE
If you notice something weird on the series list, let me know. For example, I tried to use Crunchyroll, Hulu, etc names as well as the JP one but stuff like that slips through sometimes. A pretty popular series didn't have the English name anywhere on the list and this was understandably confusing and caused some votes to be split between people writing in the English one and using the JP one. I've corrected the list and the votes but if you notice things like that or other stuff that seems confusing, let me know so that I can change it.
Really solid year for anime, bolstered by an awesome end of the year... honorable mentions to Acchi Kocchi, Kokoro Connect, and The Pet Girl of Sakurasou.
5 Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!
4 Psycho-Pass
3 Tonari no Kaibutsu-Kun (My Little Monster)
2 Sakamichi no Apollon
1 Chihayafuru
submitted my vote
"Another" that is all,
@Kino88: That's Another vote for the Tom-meister!
Whoo!~
@DocHaus: What was the real name of the The Fucking Gun Show? Never mind it is called Upotte!!.
Hey, whoever created this list is missing the GREATEST SHOW EVER MADE Upotte!! This is like when William Randolph Hearst stopped Citizen Kane from winning all the Oscars all over again.
@damswedon: Upoooooo I see you got it already. Never mind.
Alright well I did it:
1. Space Brothers
2. Chihayafuru
3. Kids on the Slope
4. Nisemonogatari
I was thinking about using the 5th spot, but then the anime I considered for 5th weren't really on the same level as my top 4 anime, so I decided not to. This might come back to bite me, but whatever. The anime I considered for 5th spot were: Tsuritama, Lupin III: Mine Fujiko and Mysterious Girlfriend X.
Done, crossing my fingers now ^_^
Ehh I miss it TT.TT
@damswedon: I didn't notice it was missing. It's on there now.
@Turambar: Gundam Unicorn is the S! Everyone should be buying that show (so far) but it's hard with the extended release schedule, especially when you can tell they put so much into the English dub.
I really didn't watch too much this year so I had a bit of trouble.
1 - Fate Zero
2 - AKB0048
3 - ShinSekai Yori
4 - Tari Tari
5 - Daily Lives of Highschool boys
Okay, I finally submitted my top 5. I didn't end up cramming in some last-minute anime like I originally planned (I blame Halo 4) but I'm kind of glad I didn't, picking 5 was tough enough between what I'd already watched!
Seriously good year for anime, and I've only checked out like a third of the shows that have interested me. That just means I have plenty more to dig into later.

I planned on doing that (it's what I did last year) but I ended up getting really hooked on Civilization 5, Netflix stuff, and marathoning a show I was just supposed to give three episodes to and then move on to other stuff to do quick gut checks on.
Picking a top 5 was super tough. Sword Art Online, Fate/Zero, Psycho Pass, and Kuroko's Basketball, kept vying for my bottom two slots but after some gut checking, tons of back and forth, contemplating just stopping at a Top 3, thinking about making my entry have no #1, and a bunch of other things, I settled on 5.
Unlike last year that personally had some clear cut runaways, this year had a lot of good shows that delivered the goods for entertainment and quality.
