As someone who once bought VHS tapes of his favorite anime, the idea of simulcasting always just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. No matter what the show, the idea of simulcasting, or near simulcasting really just reinforces the evolution that our absorption of this media has taken. Now, we often make fun of the feudal fairy furry tail show known as
InuYasha (Kagome! InuYasha!) but I don't honestly dislike the show. So, when we're told that Shonen Sunday will start airing the
Finale as a simulcast on October 3rd, you can pretty much color me interested.
What says the peanut gallery? Does the low, low price of free and legal make InuYasha more appealing, or does it still get a pass?
Notice: Gia's liveblog on the subject specifically states that the shows will air at
www.shonensunday.com/anime , which, if you go to currently gives you a forbidden page warning. Now, this could just been them protecting their assets, but apparently that part of the site will launch with Inyuasha. Maybe Gia can clear this up for us later. Oh well, either way you should
go play around on their site anyway.
Though, you can console yourself with watching Monster on Syfy pretty soon.
Well if its streaming via Hulu like the old series is then I'm out of luck since they can't steam to Canada yet so I'll have to wait and hope YTV does pick it up. As for Monster I don't have syfy so I won't be watching that either but I might check out the manga.
I love that ad when they first air it on Adult Swim. I though it was very funny. I tape most the episodes of Inuyuasha on VHS tape. I threw most of those tapes away. I never bought tapes of anime from japan back in the day. I hear that some of those tapes would cost at least 100 bucks and just for one episode of an anime on that VHS tape!
I"M IN! I love Inuyasha so definately in. Although my poor friend wont ever see it unless he comes over. Poor guy
