Vice Interrogation: Maid-sama! Volume 1

I got a chance to sit down with Maid-sama!, a new shoujo series from TOKYOPOP. But is it up to snuff?

The first volume Maid-sama! , also known as Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (or "The Student Council President is a Maid!"), hit shelves in April, but I didn't get around to picking it up until last week-- I had been planning to, though, having stumbled upon the manga in its native habitat, a.k.a. an issue of Lala, the shoujo manga anthology that also serializes Vampire Knight and Ouran High School Host Club .

But how does it fare next to its counterparts? Watch on to find out!

Have any of you guys picked it up? What did you think?

Nice review Gia, I'll have to keep it in mind!

I picked up this volume about 4 weeks ago, and I have to say, as obvious and stereotyped some events are at times, it's remarkably good. Back when I first saw Ouran I constantly kept thinking "I have no idea why the heck I'm watching this, but why am I enjoying it so much??", so I have to say I would definitely suggest this series even to non-shoujo fans.

That, and Misa-chan is an excellent tsundere.
