First up is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which will air every night from 10 to 10:30pm starting tomorrow. I shipped off an e-mail in response to the press release-- which announces a partnership between Anime Expo and the network, although it doesn't really specify what the partnership will do –and it looks like it's the original Haruhi series, NOT a broadcast of the currently-running version with new episodes added in. A shame, but not unexpected.
Also up The Third: The Girl with the Blue Eye (licensed by Nozomi Entertainment), which will run in Haruhi's slot starting June 20th, and Bandai Entertainment's releases of popular moe series True Tears and Sola-- also the same slot, starting July 14th and July 27th, respectively.
And before you ask: they will all be aired subtitled in English, not dubbed or raw. Man, I wish I lived somewhere in Southern California so I could watch this stuff. Some of the shows are really neat; they have a “3 Min Cooking” show (although the show itself is 7 minutes long?), a few different variety shows, and they air a lot of movies too...including Gamera coming up on June 25th!
Any Vice Squad members live in SoCal? Check out the broadcast and let us know how it goes!
